I�ve been looking at TradeTang to buy some stuff � can anyone tell me if they�re ok to deal with?

Fran83, “stuff” is the right word. Reviews are very mixed on TradeTang.com, with many tending toward very negative. TradeTang.com defines itself as a globalized B2B wholesale center, selling a gamut of products under the Made in China label. Many of their products are factory direct, which allows them to tout very reasonable, attractive pricing.

They come across as a serious business (even with their flawed English translations), one that purports to have appropriate Customer Service, Account Management, Auditing, Product Management, Sales, etc. departments. But, in addition to my own negative experience, I continue to read of folks who claim they’ve been scammed by this wholesaler.

You’re kidding, right? Tradetang can claim to be king of the world, but the difference between what they claim and what they really are is huge. This site is NOT legit. What they try to sell as branded merchandise is actually fake and it looks nothing like the photos they use to sell their stuff.

But they say they escrow payment and won’t release it to the seller till the buyer says it’s ok to.

Yes, TradeTang escrows a buyer’s money, supposedly so they can ensure the buyer is completely satisfied with their merchandise before paying the seller. They say they won’t pay a seller anything until they know the buyer is happy. In fact, TradeTang forewarns buyers to use them as a sort of arbitrator, intervening in the event of a dispute between buyer and seller. But, even though they claim their sellers are honest, it appears there are a lot of requests for ‘arbitration’, due to unsatisfied buyers.

The escrow service is a scam too. They ignore your emails that tell them to not pay the supplier. By that time it’s too late to get your money back.

Fran83, you’ve heard the saying “buyer beware”, right? That applies no matter where you shop, but it is especially applicable to TradeTang. I hate to admit it, but I purchased some merchandise from them some months back, and was unpleasantly surprised when it arrived. I’m not a big reseller, just some jewelry, but what they sent me looked like it came out of a Cracker Jack box. I attempted to stop payment, but without success. It wasn’t a big loss for me, but I learned to never do business with TradeTang again.
