Where can I find new suppliers?

Last month I researched suppliers to use for my wholesale business. They all looked legitimate and offered great prices. However, I found out later that a few of these were fakes.

Now I am looking for more suppliers to replace the ones that were fakes. I dont want to make the same mistake twice.

Where can I look to find reliable suppliers?

Once I do get recommendations for suppliers from other wholesalers, how can I double check if the supplier is legitimate?

Making sure a supplier is legitimate means researching them in every way you can.

Here are some tips when looking for legitimate suppliers:

      ● Experience is the key, and when you don’t have any, you should access the experience of others. Therefore, the first step would be to get advice from experts in the industry using Wholesale Forum.
      ● Next, be patient and persistent. Do not go with a supplier just because it has the lowest prices. Compare prices, customer service, payment methods and customer reviews of different suppliers.
      ● Look in an appropriate trade magazine. If a supplier is listed there, it is legitimate.
      ● Google the supplier and see if positive or negative feedback comes up. Likewise, Google the address in Google Maps to see if it is valid.
      ● Run a whois search on their domain name.
      ● Verify that they are a real company by searching in the supplier's state or country companies database. Also check how long they have been registered for.
      ● Verify if their website has Google Page Rank, if it does, it means the site has been in existence for some time, and is less likely to be a scam.
      ● Call the company. Get a feel for how it treats its customers before you decide to do business with it.
      ● Are there misspellings on the website? Are there too many advertisements? This means the supplier is more interested in making money than in taking care of its customers.
      ● If the supplier does not offer testimonials on its website, call and ask for references. If it still cannot offer you any, avoid the supplier.
      ● Overall, go with your gut feeling about the supplier. If everything checks out, but you still don’t feel confident in using the supplier’s services, don’t. Better safe than sorry.

Hi, i think the most important is to see the payment method. If they cannot give you any company account, or declare if using company account, they should increase the price by **%, then mostly it's a scam.
