What are virtual trade shows & how do they work - Should I get into online exhibiting

Hi, I have a small business and unfortunately I haven't been able to afford participating in any trade shows so far, because of the costs. However, someone happened to mention to me that I should participate in online trade shows instead. Told me they were much more affordable.

So I'd like to know what are virtual trade shows and how do they work? Do you recommend I should I get into online exhibiting?

Virtual trade shows are very similar to real trade shows except that they take place within a computer generated environment. They still display an exhibition hall with booths and even virtual people. Think of it as being inside a video game, where exhibitors and visitors interact via chat text messages, voice calls and video calls.

The company that is hosting the virtual trade fair sells the booth spaces, as it would at a real trade fair, the only difference is that instead of costing you from $15,000 to $100,000 US dollars, it only costs around $3,000 to $8,000 US dollars. And instead of getting the corner where nobody will see you, virtual spaces are always visible, no matter where you are, you will not be shadowed by the competitions huge posters that block the visitors view towards your stand.

Seminars and conferences are also available at virtual trade shows through video streaming. Presentations can be available either by video or by PowerPoint or similar slideshow applications.

Another advantage that virtual trade shows have is that they can be seen worldwide, so there is more audience available to see your company and your products. It's something that can really boost the growth of your business. Also, customers will tend to stick around much longer, as they won't get tired that easily and will not be overwhelmed by crowds and noises.

You can create your virtual booth to look exactly as a real booth would look like, with background images and posters, and even a desk, except that here, all titles or pictures are interactive and can display information when clicked upon. Be sure to place the most prominent information about your company, your products, your sales and your customer's experience or reviews; also, don't forget to add promotional materials, such as brochures, videos and other downloadable content. Make things visually appealing and don't be afraid to be creative. You don't need to be a design graphic artist, you just need the right tool to make it easy for you, a platform that can help you is Babycad, this is a special software intended for the sole purpose of generating virtual booths for online trade shows Virtual Trade Show Booth Designer | 3D-Standards[/url]).

You also get more feedback and information about visitors on virtual trade shows; first of all because all attendees must go through an online registration process in order to access the trade show, this creates a database. Secondly this generates an individual ID for each and every person that is attending the show. Thirdly, the ID allows visitors to be monitored and that gives you feedback on things like, what booth was the most visited, where did the most visitors spend most time, etc. And fourthly, it allows you to know which people approached your booth and were interested in your business, and have their contact information.

Virtual trade shows can also last longer. Even when they are over, the entire show can still be available to browse into, on-demand, for several months on end.

I'd absolutely advise you to "go for it", I guarantee you will get much more attention than at a real trade show. You'll be competing in more equal circumstances and there's less risk of getting overshadowed by competitors. Not to mention you will be within sight of thousands of people over the world. What better way of getting promotion and attention?
