UK Cosmetics supplier - Wholesale Make Up, Face Treatment

I am in the planning phase of opening an online store for cosmetics, but Im having a difficult time finding a supplier. I am also uncertain as to what qualities to look for in a reputable supplier. I dont want to get duped. Can anyone give me some leads on finding a good cosmetics supplier?

I’ve done business with 5StarCosmetics Ltd. They carry brands like Almany, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Calvin Kelin, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome, Loreal, Max Factor, Maybelline, Nivea, Revlon, ROC, and Versace. They’ve been in business for over 30 years. Just to give you a heads up, length of business, registration, and a wide variety of products are hints that can show a business is reputable.

They ship within the UK, EU and worldwide. In the UK, shipping is 12.00 for orders that weigh up to 20kg, and they add 30p for every kg over the initial weight. They typically post within 48 hours and use next day delivery, which means you have to sign for delivery. Check out Wholesale Cosmetics & Makeup Suppliers - 5star Cosmetics (Wholesale) for more details.

They do, however, have a strict no return policy, due to the nature of the wholesale business and volume of orders. It’s important with any supplier that you first sample products, which most reputable wholesalers should be willing to do (although you might have to pay for a sample).

Their payment methods are either Google Checkout (Visa and MasterCard) and PayPal (credit cards accepted).

      Good luck!

I’ve used Wholesale Clearance before with success. They can generally work with any size trader, from small to large, so let them know what you need and they’ll try to work with you. You can get great deals on pallets, if you’re looking for that much volume. They specialize in liquidated and surplus stock, as well as end of the line lots, and all of their sources are within the UK. You’re not dealing with a fake supplier from China here.

If you want to pick up your order yourself, you can do that by first contacting the company to arrange a time. Their pick up address is: Unit N, Waterside Estate, 25-27 Willis Way, Poole, Dorset BH15 3TD.

They accept PayPal, Wire or Bank Transfer, Cash, Cheque, Banker’s Draft, Postal Order, and Credit Cards.

They also have a web page solely devoted to VAT: circumstances that require payment of VAT, zero rated items, etc. It’s very helpful.

They do not accept returns and no warranties come with the product, but the brands are guaranteed. Like CatchMe98 said, be sure to acquire samples first to verify that the product is what you want. Don’t get taken in by a great deal before verifying samples. Here’s the website - Wholesale Clearance Bankrupt Stock, Wholesalers Surplus Liquidated - Wholesaler.

Rainbow Cosmetics (Manchester) Ltd supplies genuine, reputable cosmetic brands and back up their products. They will not always carry a certain item, because they buy in large lots, but they carry an amazingly wide range of brands, like Benefit, Almay, Chanel, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, etc. Minimum orders are 150.00, with VAT in addition. They help traders with determining suggested RRPs, which I found helpful when I first started in cosmetics.

In order to purchase from them, you have to open a trade account, which takes a couple of days to process and approve after filling out the application form. Credit cards are accepted through ProTX, but they do have credit account terms for customers who are established.

Orders are sent out the next day, with free shipping on orders over 500.00 inside the UK. They don’t accept returns except for damaged goods, so get samples first. You’ll notice that most of these wholesalers don’t accept returns when you are purchasing large volumes. It’s just not feasible for this type of supplier. Your best bet is to get samples from several suppliers, talk to them about their terms and go with the supplier who offers what you need, or if you like what you can get from them after checking out their products.
