Sourcing products from verified suppliers - How to identify niche markets?

      Hey,

So I'm kind of brand new, I bought some beats headphones wholesale and sold them on eBay and made some nice cash and I'm ready to buy more products, but I'm not sure what to buy, or where to buy from...

Anyone have any suggestions or tips for me, on what to buy, who to buy from etc..?

I sell the products on ebay.

      Hi Represent27,

      Welcome to Wholesale Forum

Many online sellers have started out by selling products related to their hobbies or personal interests. Focusing on products you love allows you to provide your customers with more insight compared to other sellers, and make your products appear superior or more suited to the customer's needs. Being passionate and knowledgeable about your products means you can use the right words to help your customers visualize the product in use, as well as highlight the benefits that really matter to them. Further, being knowledgeable about a product means that you will keep abreast with the latest news and developments effortlessly, and will be able to identify opportunities before sellers who do not have a passion for the product. These are just some of the reasons we recommend choosing a niche you enjoy.

Another aspect to consider when choosing a niche is the ratio of demand to competition. The ideal product is one that has a high demand but low competition. Very high demand products are often too competitive, your skill will lie in identifying niches that have the perfect demand to competition ratio for maximum margins and possibly good repeat sales. Some markets like consumables or anything requiring the replacement of spare parts and / or accessories is obviously a good choice. You could, for example, find that there is a high demand for something like stepstools, but not many sellers of these items on eBay. You could concentrate on making stepstools your niche market and offer anything closely related. Niche markets are all about becoming a specialist for a certain product.

To read more about niche markets, have a look at the following threads:

Create a list of products you would like to sell, then use a market research tool like Terapeak to find out how these products are currently selling on eBay and how you should list those products to generate the most sales.

When you decide which products you want to sell, you are then ready to start looking for suppliers. There are many online directories you can use to source suppliers, but some are much better than others. There are many reports of people getting scammed on free online directories, mostly due to unrealistic expectations by sellers or due to the impersonation by scammers of legitimate companies. Any supplier you find needs to be carefully verified before you start dealing with them, including verifying that the person you are communicating with actually works for the company they say they do.

To find reliable trade suppliers instantly, we recommend using the largest online trade directories of verified wholesale suppliers. These are eSources (Over 80,000 verified global trade suppliers), Wholesale Deals (Over 50,000 verified global trade suppliers) and Worldwide Brands (Over 10,000 verified suppliers from the USA, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, China), which list thousands of verified wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers and drop ship suppliers.

To learn more about finding and verifying suppliers and about the directories mentioned above, you should read the following threads:
