I think drop shipping is best avoided for products like cosmetics. There is a bug chance that the products that eventually reach the customer are fake plus it adds a needless cost. But inventory mgmt also requires a lot of time input ensuring that there are no spoilages, theft and such like so weigh both options.

If you are planning to sell on Ebay, try and build volume. Powersellers enjoy great priveleges not to mention extra discounts compared to the ones that are not.

You may also want to specifically research the MAC cosmetics suppliers reliability as well as ability to increase supply with your growing requirements. Some suppliers are great to start out with but cannot handle the needs of a large professional business.

I would also suggest that you try and keep a great relationship with your suppliers as that goes a long way in maintaining mutual prosperity in the long run. There may be requests for a minimum price or geographical constraints which are best adhered to.

      1. Never buy MAC or any other branded cosmetics from China or the Far East. They will be fakes. You may have some chances through Singapore and Hong Kong, or in those Asian countries where MAC tried to establish its brand (unsuccesfully, and therefore you may find MAC overstocks), however you will need to inspect the cosmetics in person to evaluate authenticity. Unless you can bear the cost of visiting the supplier in person, or have a trusted import / export agent on site, avoid importing branded cosmetics from the Far East.

      2. MAC uses strict distribution channels. Unless you can spend thousands of dollars in stock, forget about buying from MAC directly, you will struggle to compete online, due to the large % of fake MAC cosmetics that are resold online. If your budget is limited and you must sell MAC cosmetics, look for official trusted wholesale liquidators. You can find many of these in the resources recommended on Wholesale Forum, alternatively try http://www.liquidation.com/auction/search?cmd=keyword&words=mac%20cosmetics

I think you should try ebay because their is a less risk of scams on ebay and i haven't heard something bad about the sellers at the ebay, amazon is also very good option you just have to browse the relevant category

Plenty of fakes on eBay too. Check the seller's reputation for any complaints about fakes before buying.

Amazon unfortunately is subject to the same issue when you buy from Amazon merchants. Some will be selling fakes, although Amazon seems to be more proactive about identifying fakes sellers.

I found a wholesaler "" that sold Mac. I thought it to be strange so I crossed referenced the images with the Mac website. Low and behold, the wholesaler was selling OBVIOUS fakes.
