      Binocular cleaning cloth suppliers

Can anyone recommend a supplier of cleaner, cleaning cloths or cleaning packets for all types of binoculars? I also sell telescopes in my shop. I dont know if they need a different type of cleaner, but if they do, where can I find cleaning supplies for the telescopes?

Cleaning materials for binoculars, telescopes and microscopes are interchangeable. These cleaning products are made to clean the magnified lenses of all three types of equipment.

Many binocular and telescope cleaning supplies can be found on the same sites where the equipment itself is sold. This is the site where I’ve bought binocular cleaning materials before:

      Rother Valley Optics

      ● Offers lens cleaning packets in several brands: ProPhot 12 pack, Lenspen CellKlear, Baader Optical Wonder and Sigma Microfibre.
      ● Also offers several types of lens blowers, cleaning kits, brushes, pens and equipment that come with cleaning materials.
      ● Stock fluctuates; so call before ordering: 01909 774521.
      ● View photo, price and read a detailed description about each product.
      ● Easy online ordering system.

I really like the idea of binoculars that come with their own cleaning kits. That means I don’t have to sell cleaning products separately.

If I decide to sell binocular cleaning cloths, what is the best way to instruct my customers about cleaning their equipment? Is it just like cleaning a mirror or a window, or should I tell them to treat it differently?

Binoculars get dirty because dust and dirt accumulate on the lenses and if you touch them, oil and grease does, too. Because binoculars and telescopes use specialty glass, they should be handled with extreme delicacy when cleaning.

      Here are some cleaning tips:

      ● Read the manufacturer’s cleaning directions if the equipment comes with any.
      ● Hold the equipment upside down and use a brush to gently wipe away dust and dirt.
      ● Blow on the surface of the lenses to loosen dust and dirt.
      ● If the equipment is waterproof, hold the lenses under a gentle stream of water.
      ● Use a wet cotton swab to dab at any more loose dirt.
      ● Use a lens cleaning cloth and solution to wipe the lenses in a circular motion.
      ● Never use any chemicals that are not designated for the sole purpose of cleaning specialty lenses.
