Thanks for all the advice everyone. It's nice to have all the information in one place.

I feel better about choosing ecommerce software now. Might look at the free options first, but it looks like Shopify and Big Commerce might be worth the fee.

Try opencart. It's pretty easy once you get a hang of it.

Engaging a PR campaign to promote your brand of products might also lead to a dead end. It does not really matter if your products have all the bells and whistles and come with really good pricing if consumers have no place to buy them from.

As per my knowledge and experience, I shall suggest you to go for either Magento or Zen Cart. Both are easy to maintain and easily customizable.

I second the recommendation for Opencart. It's free, has an active support community and modules, and is a ton easier to set up than Magento. I use it for my 30+ stores and adore it.

I would look into Xcart and possibly magento these seem to be two very good platforms. Look for something that has most of the options you want it to have, then you can customize it if needed. Find a good developer to work with on sites like Elance.com.

Does anyone know which of these hosting softwares support different languages without an increased monthly charge? And if I decide to use a 2nd language, let's say Chinese, (but the host is English, such as Shopify or Magento), will I need to rename products myself in Chinese?

Hi, What did you end up using? I like Wordpress and use WooCommerce with any of the Woo Themes. The themes are very inexpensive and work really well. And if you want to add the different languages capability or anything really, there is always plenty of free Wordpress plugins to choose from.

I am a web designer and if you need any help with your site let me know.

      Hi there!

It's great to start an online business.

      How about OpenCart?

It's an awesome open source ecommerce software to start an online store - it's quite simple to set up and configure.

Moreover there are many Free OpenCart Themes to use. You can download some free from our website: Egestas
