Listing products from multiple dropshippers on a single website

Is it possible to list products from different dropshippers on the same website?

For example, if I sell pens from one dropshipper and stationary from another can I have them on the same site? Would that work out for the customer?

How does listing items from multiple dropshippers work?

What should I be on the lookout for?

Using a variety of dropshippers and listing the product on your website is very doable and you'll find that many traders do the same for their online stores.

Whenever you multiply your suppliers you have to be careful and very attentive. Because you’re using 2 different suppliers, you need to keep an eye out on a few main things:

Shipping schedules – each company has their own schedule, and so your site should cover each of them as effectively as possible. A good way to do this is to include a disclaimer for your buyer to read concerning possible delays in shipping, etc.

Pricing – Make sure that your prices are, at the very least, closely related. You don’t want to sell pens for $5.00 and have your stationary priced at $30.00. You’d never sell your stationary, and you’d just wind up losing money.

Online inventory – Always keep an eye on your dropshippers’ inventory and update the inventory status of a given item on your website. There’s not a lot of things worse than having a buyer purchase a product and then have it out of stock.

Like I said, it is doable and worthwhile as it allows you to successfully expand your market. However, if you don’t stay on top of the changes from both of your dropshippers, then you will find yourself having to make up the difference in the shipping payments if you don’t charge your customers the correct amount

Hope this helps clear things up for you.

I list products on my site and use two different dropshippers.

On my end I ask for a live XML sheet so when an item is removed from the dropshipper's inventory it is removed from my website at the same time.

What are you going to do when a customer orders from both dropshippers? Won't they receive their package at different times?

I would think that would be a negative.

Yes you can list products from different dropshippers.

If you are concerned about getting the items shipped in a bundle then you can mail the items to yourself first, but that kind of negates one of the primary benefits of dropshipping.

Delivery was one area of concern I had, but I guess as long as I include a disclaimer in the purchasing process, the customer should understand that there could be a difference in delivery dates.

Also, I would not want to have the dropshipper send the items to me. That would be too much of a delay.

Speaking of prices, check how much each drop shipper charges for shipping. This can cause you some difficulties. One drop shipper can charge per item while the other charges a flat fee.

Thanks for all the drop shipping suggestions. Going to look into the live XML sheet and rework some shipping costs.
