Volusion sounds cool from what I’ve seen here…but is this a trusted company? Like, how long has it been around – it’s not something that’s just going to disappear and leave us all hanging, in a year, is it?

Oh, no – the company has been in business for over 10 years now. In fact, it was established in 1999. A lot of the people that use it are like me and were using GoDaddy or other services that limited them. Volusion has definitely opened up my ecommerce options.

With being in the business for over 10 years and offering 5 different packages, I also doubt they will be “disappearing” anytime soon. Actually, I don’t think they’ll disappear at all. They just offer too much for business owners.

What type of business owners is the software designed for? Is it all online business owners or just some?

Gr8 – thx for the info. I’m going to check into them as I’m getting a little fed up with the company I’ve been using too!

Hello, I've been consiering volusion as well. However, I have no wholoesale suppliers, nor do I even know what I want to sell yet. I'm tempted to go with the power sellers union, who offer desinging and website, seo, and adding 100 products to your cart. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

I think it is best to try before you buy and test the online help etc. before they have your credit card details. Some of the big players like volusion can offer some fancy features but a large customer base doesn't always mean flexibility and ease of use for users.
I would try out some of the smaller players for free first. Take a bit of time etc. think about what you really need now and how that could be grown later.
Consider stock management features, shipping plans etc. Initially parcel weight and distance calculations don't seem so important but on a few months they might!
