How to get my business in China started
Hi folks, I'm a engineer worked Nokia Shanghai, just get this idea to start my own business to get myself finance free. My advantage is I'm from China and i can get tons of products here in the market or directly from factory, also my disadvantage is that i'm not quite familiar with business and my english is not good enough to deal with all kinds of situations though i do have worked in Join-venture company for several years. So i need some advice here from you guys, should i start a joint venture or should i find a partner outside of China ?

You should start from both angles at the same time. The one thing that you lack when starting out is credibility. If you approach your business from both angles (as an authorized factory agent/trading company and also as a direct supplier to overseas importers) you will gain credibility quicker.

China presents great opportunities and great challenges. It has something for everybody, but it is not always an easy place to do business and it is getting harder as a result of China’s harmonization of trade rules and tightening of loopholes.Talk to people who have opened offices in China. Ask them how they succeeded and especially how they failed.I suggest you to participate at trade shows in China and start networking at local trade shows, as relationships are crucial to doing business in the country.
