Importing Furniture from China to UK - How does Shipping Work?

      Hi all,

Novice to Wholesale Forum and have one query.

Do I need to arrange a lorry to pick my furniture up from port when my shipment arrives to the UK or it directly comes to a specified address in the UK?

How does shipping work? I'm ordering quite a lot of furniture.

      Thanks everyone

It depends on the shipping term. For example, if it is FOB Shenzhen, it means you need pick up your goods in Shenzhen Port. From Shenzhen to your country, all the fee should be paid by you. If it is CIF+the port in your country, it means you just need to pick up the goods at your port. You said your goods are big quantity, you'd better ship it by sea. It is much cheaper than by air.

      Hi,

If you havent already got a freight forwarder, it would be best to get one to do the customs clearing for you, once thats been done, normally they will also arrange delivery to your door. If you wanted to go yourself, it could be done but might not be worth it. You would still need an agent to do the customs clearing for you.

For the UK, we also provide a door to door service, wherein we get the goods right from the chinese factory to your door in the UK. If you could drop us an email via our website, I would be happy to get back with more details about the service.
