Best ways to lower postage price - Cheap postal services and shipping methods

Hello, How are you all doing?

I am looking to sell electronic accessories. Considering the price I am selling them for I am trying to maintain a profit.

      My question for you is:

Is there a method to obtain a cheap postage when offering free shipping? If so how? And if so, then what are ways to lower postage and or shipping price?

      Hi Mr.SellsAlot,

      Welcome to Wholesale Forum

The cheapest option is to send your items by using the US postal service. Depending on the size of the items you will be selling you can send them as regular letters. Some cables, flash USB adapters and micro SD cards, for example, can be posted as a small letter with a size not superior to 6-1/8 x 11-1/2 x 1/4 inches and a maximum weight of 3 oz. for $0.85. However, this postage method doesn't come with any guarantee or insurance.

You should decide if you want extra assurances or services for the postage of your products, like speed, tracking your orders to see if they reach their destinations, insurance and delivery confirmation. These extra services do have extra costs. You could consider tracking only those packages heading to destinations with a high "lost in transition" rate, for example areas that are currently economically depressed should be considered high risk.

Have a look at the following links to find US postal rates as of January 22nd, 2012:If USPS prices don't leave you enough room for profit then you should consider slightly increasing your prices to cover for shipping or imposing a minimum order quantity for free shipping.

Offering free shipping and using the cheapest method to ship your items is all trail and error. You have to find out if offering free shipping will attract enough sales to cover for the shipping costs. Another thing you need to test is the rate of items not reaching their destination when shipping without a tracking or confirmation on delivery service.

Also have a look at the following results for threads offering valuable information about providing free shipping:Hope this helps
