WARNING: DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING BONGO INTERNATIONAL!!

Bad experience I don't want to go into long detail so here is the summary:

I purchased some car parts which came to about 3 pounds expecting to pay 72$ according to their chart. The parts arrived to the US address so I went to the ship and payment area on their website, it said 72$ and I entered my credit card details and confirmed... Then the next page said shipped and the shipping cost was 180$ odd dollars and I was like hmmm that is weird maybe that is the real cost and I got 72$ for using bongo?

Anyway couple days later I was wrong the credit card statement showed the 180$... I was pretty angry, so talked to their online support chat thing and they were very unhelpful and they just closed the chat down on me refusing to explain.

So further investigation led me to find that their secret is in moving your products (remember how they say they will open the package to inspect and so you can see what is arrived in your order online and all that crap) well they do this for a reason... to move it to a larger and wider box and spread everything out so that you get charged massive ridiculous amounts based on volume and not weight anymore.

SO IN SHORT SAVE YOURSELF A HUGE SHIPPING BILL 4x THE AMOUNT OF THE ACTUAL THING YOU BUY AND TELL BONGO TO F* OFF! THE STUPIDEST SCAM ON THE INTERNET I HOPE THIS PLACE GETS SHUT DOWN AND OWNERS GO TO JAIL AND GET BUM RAPED BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT, SCUM OF THE EARTH.

OMGOMG I thought it was just me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It happened to me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I signed up for this forum just so i can reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered a wetsuit which is around 3lbs and it came out to 7lb in a box!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I was like why on earth is my wetsuit in a box (but they never explain). Tried talking to 4 different agents - they are all crap. They will only cut and paste whatever it's on their web to you.

Also, I was planning to ship my goods to HK but would like to change it to US. They said classic member cannot ship within US and they force me to pay $35 (for 3 months) to upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was like on the sign up sheet - NO WHERE does it say basic member cannot ship within USA. Then the agent said "it's written in the FAQ". WTF?????????????????? They have NO idea what a contract is.

I asked to talk to their legal counsel - being refused of course. And just asked me to email them to their support team (which I highly suspect it will be the agents who are answering these questions online hopelessly anyway).

SOOOOOO pissed now. First, a 3lb wetsuit became 7lb (now the shipping cost is $98 USD - 1/3 of the cost of my wetsuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Second, now am told HK is the friggin *ONLY* destination I can ship my item to - not anywhere else because I am a classic member. If i want to remove my box or ship to somewhere else, I have to pay $35 x 3 to upgrade my account. Holy crap.

Funny thing is - the agent said, all our customers are happy they know the rules blah blah and I was like you are not gonna tell me how many ppl actually complaint are you? AND THEN because I was too pissed - i started to google for some review and found this page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you have no idea how many times I've used the word "scam" to them in my chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dive shop insisted that we used this company so I signed up without doing any research!!!!!!!!!!

Their sign up page is totally misleading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trick ppl to sign up and then force you to upgrade your account!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the person above me, I wish they will be out of the business asap.

DO NOT USE BONGO INTERNATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

sigh on the other hand - it does look like I have to pay for $98 for the shipping fee crap

      big lesson learn

seriously I hope everyone reads this and don't get trick by Bongo International

I could have shipped the item to my friends who live in the states and it would cost only $27.3 usd to ship it to me via united states postal service. But originally thought Bongo was only slightly more expensive (if they didn't intentionally made your 3lb goods into a 7lbs good instead) and would save my friends some trouble therefore I signed up with them.

Geez I was expecting some round ups in the weight - but wasn't expecting more than a double!!!!

Absolutely ridiculous and am still extremely super very pissed.

Bongo are as bad as any company can possibly get.

They lie about goods in their warehouse, which they can't competently track.
      They lie about making refunds.
The prove the lie about the supposed great american service.

I've had over 3 months of communication with them, and they claim to do things which just don't happen.

      Avoid, avoid, avoid avoid!!!!

      Bongo Warning

      1. Expensive
      2. Slow processing
      3. They don't keep what they promise

Do yourself a favor- get an american address through a company that specializes in forwarding items to Europe. In this way, You will cut your transportation, taxes and other costs in half. A bit more work on your behalf, but will certainly be worth it.

Don't do the same mistake I did. I'm still waiting for a refund of approx. USD 1,000,00. The card company told me that my application for a refund could take up to two months to settle.

Bongo International told me that I would receive my refund within 3 days. It never happened.

      You have been warned!

      Bongo US stole my money!

I had a mail forwarding account with Bongo US. An item arrived from the Department of the Treasury. I did not know at the time that this was a check. I forward my mail in a batch as usual, but this item is not included - I contacted BONGO and they did not know where it is....So how did it go missing from a sealed DHL envelope? Only if it never got put in in the first place..... Clearly someone in their firm stole the check. Never use BONGO US - they will steal your mail!

      Hi,

I started using this bongo international barely a week ago and I just realised that after paying for the registration and also paying for the shipment of my item ( 1pr simple working handgloves ) to their warehouse, I will be paying 65.63 US Dollars to ship from their warehouse to Belgium.

Here's the interesting part, how much did I buy the item ? 26.49 USD + 6.05 USD shipping cost to bongo warehouse, total cost= 32.54 USD. That's how much it's worth my item and now am to pay twice that amount before I can get my item in Belgium. Make your own judgement of this before you use Bongo.
