Wholesalescout.co.uk Review - Customers Expose WHOLESALE SERVICES / Wholesale Scout Scam - Complaints, Feedback & Reviews on Wholesale Scout

has anyone ever heard of wholesalescout and are they any good? I read somewhere that their list is very small, that the £1 trial is a trap and that the prices are bait. Any advice?

      Hi Stewie,

Anything that is too cheap will offer you cheap or at worst useless information. There are several scam complaints about their non-transparent practices, here is a rundowm:

There are several disgruntled customers getting charged up to £200 in recurring payments. The wholesalescout site charged their card £1 at first, and then again £26.99 without notice just after 5 days. The cardholders could not recognize that the charge was coming from wholesale scout because they use a fake company name (WHOLESALE SERVICES). When you see the charge on your bank statement you will not recognize who it is coming from. Complainants ended up with over £200 in unwanted subscription charges. Basically £1 can quickly turn into £200, so be careful.

      2. Virtually all their deals are very old and no longer valid, the site seems to spend the money it gets from you on pay per click advertising, and that is how it manages to stay afloat. Wholesale prices are also inaccurate, when you visit the supplier site the prices are either much higher or the product is out of stock (or both). Brand name logos are featured throughout the site to persuade you to pay.

      3. They use different websites to sell the same information (for example, wholesalescout.co.uk and wholesaler-source.co.uk are EXACTLY the same thing)

Therefore beware that wholesale scout gives very few sources, which customers claim you can find on Google, sells outdated information, will charge your card recurrently (you pay £1 and then they will withdraw £26.99 after 5 days and monthly thereafter). Their charge will appear on your bank statement as WHOLESALE SERVICES. Even if you pay just £1+VAT, they will charge you another £22.99+VAT unless you cancel within 5 days from the day you gave them your card details.

Our recommendation is to try services that invest in their customers and that are updated regularly, for example wholesale deals is a much larger service that offers many more frequent updates, better offers and a price guarantee. Wholesale deals also includes approximately 130,000 verified sources, about 300x more sources than wholesale scout ... and over 30,000 active deals. You can read wholesale deals customer testimonials at testimonials.

Here are some testimonials we have found on the net from people who have tried Wholesale Scout:

"WARNING: this site is a scam, makes false claims including claiming to offer source to iphones £100 less than average eBay prices. In fact source no longer has iphones in stock + had them at over £120 ABOVE ebay selling prices! This means no profit to be made. Also site claims join from £1 but then charges £22.99 after 7 days! Overall I would rate this as a scam since it does not offer what is advertised, it's just a trap selling dreams."

"ditto! wholesalescout scammed me out of £30! paid £1 then autocharged £29 after 7 days. it's in their terms. Totally useless service! suppliers are readily available on google and false profit claims! also most offers sold out and ex vat. Looking for help to recover money "

"Hi, anyone to help....I have asked my bank to investigate a regular £26.99 coming out of my bank since May 2011, first £1.20p then seven days later the debit card every month of £26.99 and I could not stop it at the bank unless I made claim to fraud. The bank just got back to me and all the details I am supposed to have given and they want my comments and may pay them back the money they have had on hold. I dont remember ever instructing this company even with the £1.20p and now may have to pay over £200 and ongoing if I dont 'cancel' this, could anyone give some advice on the 'scam', I really am worried now about going on the internet and my debit card getting used. I have no recollection about this company. Thanks Sue"

The conclusion is that wholesale scout is a very static website designed to lure you in with a £1 offer that can quickly inflate to you paying £200+. Cancellations can only be submitted by email, and there is no guarantee the site will honor your cancellation, forcing you to cancel your card.

WARNING: Charges again after 7 days

Paid £1.20 they charged me another £26.99 on the 7th day because I did not cancel. Their charge shows on my card ledger as WHOLESALE SERVICES which I discovered was them by chance... They are not refunding me, they say the cancellation must be received before the 6th dayÖ Noth worth the money either, offers have expired or not as described. Most goods are grade C/D. Be warned, the claims they make about branded and all are VERY overstated and they charge recurrently using a fake name!!

      Absolutely useless

I signed up with the hope of finding a few good suppliers, but once I started exploring the site I found that Wholesalescout is just a load of crap, a very small list of so called suppliers who are actually middlemen, the more disappointing thing is that I found the same list of suppliers on a free directory later. Useless.

It is never updated, none of the deals exist and they have about 100 suppliers. Google is 100 times better and free. NOTE: they rebill, cancel before you get charged again. I hope they will honour my request to cancel.

Wholesalescout is a scam. It charged my card as Wholesale Services. Why? So that card holders like me donít know who to cancel this rip off with. Itís a recurrent service, meaning that after the initial payment it debits another £29 without notice, and using a name which cannot be recognised. The list is very outdated and limited and there are too many counterfeits.

This site is a bit of a scam. Trial offer is tricky for those like me who do not tend to read T & Cs; you need to cancel trial membership before 7 days, failing to do so will result in automatic deduction of money from your account for monthly membership; no prior confirmation, no mails, very difficult to figure out who is charging the money as they use disguised name on card statement. When I used to be a member the information was kind of useless, mostly unverified, for a pound I didnít bother but now that they have charged me again I am absolutely gutted. Most of the products are from Stockshifters (now closed), the rest I couldnít source as were out of stock, had to compromise every time. Majority of their suppliers are middlemen, thus margins are nonexistent. I wouldnít recommend them if you are seriously planning to develop a business, itís a bit of a ďme-tooĒ in the crowd, but they charge for info that is available on other similar directories free of cost. Nothing distinct that separates it from other free directories but still they charge for the info.

Fraud site, donít be fooled by the £1 offer, itís a scam pure and simple with no way to cancel once they have the card details. Worth less than a pound, yes less, because itís all available free on google.
