Is my Payment system too complicated?

      Hi Forum Members!

I am new here and looking for some advice.

      My question is:

I offer different Wholesale and right now my System of Payment work like this:

Costumer come to my Website, he choose his Product and buy the Product (Paypal or Bank transfer). Now he will get a second invoice with the additional Delivery costs.

The point is, that I can't calculate automatically the Shipping cost at the moment when the Costumer buy the product. I have very good conditions but everytime I have to Calculate the Shipping cost individual, cause the Full charge etc. changes every month. So:

      1. Costumer pay product
      2. Costumer get again the same invoice but now with the additional Shipping costs
      3. We ask the costumer for pay now the shipping costs

You think that is okay for the costumer? How you would do it?

Thanks for Help and sorry for my English, I am Swiss...

PS: We use Royale Asia delivery

      Hi Seganova,

      Welcome to Wholesale Forum

As long as you are upfront about the fact that your preliminary invoice does not include shipping charges, you will be fine and you will not receive any complaints.

What you could do is offer a shipping estimate, clearly mark it as an estimate and only charge the buyer for the goods first. Then follow the same process you are following now.

The advantage of this process is two-fold:

      1. The buyer is aware they should expect a second invoice for shipping charges, and they are aware of the approximate amount they will be asked to pay
      2. You can update your shipping estimate once a week instead of every day or hour.

Yes thats good idea. Cause of my shoppingcartsystem it just work if the costumer chose Banktransfer, if he chose Paypal already dont works anymore with an estimation. (I use Bigcommerce Shoppingcartsystem).

We are a Wholesale Distributor with the Headquater in Bangkok and an office in Switzerland. Our Distributioncenter is in China. We go the first time online, cause till now we didnt need the internet but we think it would be a good chance to serve other Retailers.

Would be great to get some opinions from Retailers, what they think about my current payment system

(Pay the product, \We quote the delivery/ get a second invoice for pay the Shippment).

Cool Forum! Thank you guys for help and advices.
