I’ve heard a lot about social bookmarking, but I’m also not aware of how to use it for marketing the business. If somebody can give some pointers on how I can use social bookmarking to increase traffic to my website, it would be of great help.

I am a big fan of social bookmarking.
A lot of my friends and colleagues keep asking the same questions – how to use social bookmarking to market their business and what are the best ways of using social bookmarking as a marketing tool.
First, it’s important to know what social book marking is. Social bookmarking allows you to store, organize, and share your bookmarks on the Internet. This helps you to access your bookmarks from any computer and also makes it easier for you to share informative and interesting webpages and websites with your friends.
Many people use social bookmarking websites instead of search engines for researching content. This is because search engines give thousands of results on a given topic while a social bookmarking website shows only a few results but usually more relevant. Therefore, if you bookmark your website and blog pages on the Internet, you will gain more visibility and eventually more traffic to your website. (Make sure that your bookmarks are public)
Search engines love social bookmarking websites. Therefore, if you submit your links to such websites, your website will be indexed quickly.
Social bookmarking also helps you develop back links to your website. The more the number of back links to your website, the higher will be the ranking of your website on search engines and therefore the traffic to your website will increase.
Social bookmarking websites help you expand your social network, which is necessary for the success of any business.

• You should become a member of a few social bookmarking websites. The most popular are Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Reditt and Faves.
• Create your profile. Make sure it is a good one as other members can see your profile. Give information about your expertise, business, and interests. Remember that most people check the profile before befriending someone on social networking sites, so your profile should be impressive.
• Once you have registered with the website, you should start bookmarking your webpages and websites.

Isn’t it a time-consuming task to submit social bookmarks to too many websites?

if you are not keen on working too hard, you can work smart. You can hire someone to execute this task on your behalf. Alternately, you can make use of social bookmarking submitters.

Manually submitting bookmarks is time consuming. Therefore, people use social bookmark submitters; that’s a software meant for submitting bookmarks to multiple bookmarking websites.
