      Good point, Latinrose. Google introduced the quality score in order to ensure that their visitors are able to view only the ads that matter to them. Click through rate, relevancy of ad to keywords and landing page, and quality of landing page are the key factors that affect your ad quality score.

      Any tips for improving your Google Adwords quality score?? This is something Im not too familiar with, either.

      Your landing page must be highly relevant to the keyword you are targeting. For this reason, the broader or more generic your keyword is, the harder it will be to achieve a high quality score for that keyword.

      Create ad groups that group related keywords (use long tail keywords whenever possible), and create a relevant landing page for each ad group (by relevant it's intended that the landing page should contain many occurrences of the ad group's target keywords, without spamming of course).

      Yeah, sure - For improving the quality score, you should make your website user friendly. It should load quickly. If your landing page doesnt load quickly, the visitors may get frustrated and they may leave even before your webpage loads. This would result in a low conversion rate.

      You should also make sure that all pages of your website are linked properly. You should fix any broken links, as internal linking is very important for the success of your ads.

      Here are some tips that can help you improve the quality score of your ads:

      • Optimize all your web pages with top-performing keywords.

      • Compile keywords for your ad campaign. You should create ad copy for the best match and broad match keywords. When you’ve made three to four copies for each one of them, you should test them to find the most effective ad copy.

      • You should ensure that your landing page has a number of back links to it. This will not only improve the quality score for your ads but also improve your organic traffic.

      • Keep adding fresh and quality content to your website periodically.

      Great information, Hill. I think if you want to get the best results from your ads, you should avoid cluttering your ad groups with too many keywords. Instead of using several keywords in one ad group, you should create separate ad groups for different keywords.

      Also, make sure that you link your ads to the most relevant webpages on your site (create them if you don't yet have a page on your site that is highly relevant to the target keyword).

      Thanks Maria for your tips! I would like to explain your point to the readers with an example. Suppose you offer weight loss products and you are targeting the keywords “weight loss products” and “weight loss tips”. You should have separate ad groups and ads for the two target phrases.

      For example, your one ad may read as

      Weight Loss Tips
      Discover The Best Weight Loss
      Secrets Used By Celebrities Today

      and your second ad as

      Weight Loss Products
      Buy Natural Weight Loss
      Products @ 50% Off Today

      You should link the first ad to the page where you have weight loss tips for your readers, and the second one to the sales page. If you change the landing page for any one of them, your ads will become less effective.

      Hey, heres another thing I found out the privacy policy also plays an important role in deciding the quality score of your ads. If you ask your visitors to give any kind of information, it is important for you to clearly specify your privacy policy. Otherwise, visitors are not likely to register with you or buy from you, which would affect your conversion rate and therefore your quality score.

      You’re right, but, on the other hand, you’ve got to get those buyers. A big part of that is to include a proper call to action phrase in the ad.

      The call to action phrase should be powerful enough to persuade the visitors to click on your ad and become your leads or customers. Some examples of such phrases are “Offer Ends Tonight. Buy Now!” and “Download Free Games Now.”
