      How effective are customer testimonials?

Should I ask for customer testimonials? How effective are they? Is this just a waste of time?

Asking for customer testimonials is definitely not a waste of time. This can increase your credibility. Nowadays buyers are very sceptical and we can’t blame them. By having some testimonials from other clients you can increase your sales.

There are a lot of benefits for using testimonials. It’s interesting to know that people like to imitate. If they read that other people had a positive experience with your company they will wish to order too. The clients who provide testimonials will become more loyal.

There are some things you can do to get the best results from using testimonials:

      1. Ask for a testimonial as soon as your client receives the products! This is the best time to get a positive testimonial.

      2. The testimonial should include your special deal. For example if you offer fast delivery you should ask the client to mention this in his testimonial.

      3. The testimonial should include specific details. Ask the client to specify the delivery time and other details.

      4. Avoid using surveys! Testimonials are more personal and can attract more clients.

      5. Ask the client to mention the benefits of the product

      6. Ask for a picture with the client using the product.

      7. Ask permission from the client to use his testimonial. It’s also important to check if you are allowed to publish his name.

      8. Send a testimonial request. Try to make your client feel special.

      9. Send a thank you email to the customers who offered testimonials.

    5. Thank you for this post:

I know I can publish the testimonials on my website. I was wondering where else can I publish them.

There are plenty places where you can publish your testimonials. A good tip would be to place testimonials in your email signature. You can also place them on flyers, newsletters, articles and marketing campaigns.

To be frank, when I buy something from online store, I pay much attention to the reviews from other customers. If most customers consider the product's good, certainly I will buy it. But if someone say that it is not so good, I would hesitate when buying it.

      Depends

From my personal experience, testimonials are absolutely essential as they serve to reassure new customers that doing business with you does not pose a great risk. I agree with some of the members though that just having testimonials on your website isn't enough. A URL link along with contact details really help to flesh out testimonials. Ensuring that your customers appear to be credible businesses lends credibility to your business
