It may take up to 6 months for the registration of a trademark.

The process is lengthy. Once you submit the application to USPTO, an attorney will examine it. This examination process encompasses a lot of things, like checking whether the application form conforms to all procedural requirements and whether the trademark is unique or bears close resemblance to some registered or unregistered trademark or trademark that has been applied for. If there are any issues, then the applicant is asked to fix them. If everything is fine, or after the applicant has fixed the issues, the application is published for objection. If nobody responds to the notice within 30 days, your trademark is registered.

Most people focus only on their business while establishing their brands. In fact, you should keep both your business and customers in mind during this process.

      Rightly said.

Some of the things that you should keep in mind while developing your brand are:

      1. Who are your target customers?

      2. What value-added services are you offering to your customers?

      3. How do you differ from your competitors?

      4. Who are your competitors?

      5. How are your competitors popularizing their brands?

To popularize your brand, you should participate in business events, conferences, trade fairs, and forums. This will help you to expand your business network and therefore market your brand.

Good idea. Nowadays, businesses also use the Internet for marketing. You could market your brand through blogs, press releases, and social networking websites.
