How can I market my products on etsy.com?

I make some very pretty shawls and cloaks. I posted them on Etsy - Your place to buy and sell all things handmade, vintage, and supplies but I am not selling many. How can I market my products on Etsy?

Have I got some ideas for you. I make hand-blown glass products and love using Etsy - Your place to buy and sell all things handmade, vintage, and supplies to sell them. I think it is terrific that us crafters have a “village” to call home. Here is some stuff I have tried and it has worked for me.

      1. Facebook! That is a great place to establish a page for your products and link it back to Etsy.
      2. Twitter! Twitter is a super-fast and super-easy way to get the word out.
      3. Email! Get an email list put together and start sending out info and special sales.
      4. Network! Get together with other clothing manufacturers that compliment what you have. Someone who makes hats or shoes maybe.

If you pick someone who sells the same stuff in another country or across country you two could partner and exchange lists. You can refer people to each other.

I am glad you said that. I was going to suggest that you check out the Etsy teams. I bet they can help you get off the ground Etsy Teams! . You can select by state/country or by the type of item you craft.

Crafters really get into Etsy big time. You should totally hook up with some of the Etsy groups that are out there and be blunt and ask them how they do it. Most of them dont mind tell you all their secrets. Crafters love to share.

Something to really think about is making a logo or banner for your shop that lets shoppers know what you make and attracts them to your site. Here is a really good site with some extra hints you can use as well. http://handmademarketing.org/etsy-soapdeli-etsy-item-of-the-day-etsy-blog-sell-handmade-ten-tips-photographs-social-media/

      Some of the tips include

Make sure you take really good photos of your products
      Sell at craft shows
      Run some promotions/sales
Use social media like the other guy mentioned Twitter, Facebook, etc.

One of the things I love about the craft community is how they take so much pride in the quality of work. You should be sure to explain your techniques and fabrics in as much detail as possible. There are people out there who really want to know that you care a lot about what you are doing and will buy it if they are convinced it is a quality item.

OMG I use emails like crazy. Just using GMAIL I was able to build a list and I send out an email every week telling people what I am working on. There are craft freaks out there!

I agree with all the posts here pretty much. I still think the Etsy Teams are the best way to get started. Also dont forget about Flickr that is a great place to post photos.

Oh and dont forget about blogging people love to talk in person and people also love to type and give feedback when they are given a chance. Especially when it is something they are passionate about. I do not blog myself but I think there is a way to do it on Etsy. Dont know??
