But can you control the content on Twitter? No. Facebook allows you to decide what you want to share with your fans. You can eliminate what you think is useless and not suitable for your audience. However, you can’t do so on Twitter. So, if you want to have greater control over content you should use Facebook.

I think Facebook is more for social networking whereas Twitter is for sharing information.

Using Facebook is okay for advertising your business but I’d say that people bond on Facebook with those people whom they know. So, if you have a huge number of customers and business associates on Facebook, it won’t take you time to have a huge fan list for your business page but if you’re an unknown entity, you should first connect with people on Twitter.

well said, if you want to interact with your acquaintances then Facebook is good but for interacting with unknown people, you should better take the help of Twitter.

And as you are looking forward to advertise your business, it means you don’t want to limit yourself to people who already know you. Therefore, make the best use of Twitter to market your products and services and create your brand awareness.

Once people start following you on Twitter, you could start a business page on Facebook so that you could offer something more to your followers.

I’d say that Facebook is more useful for publishing rich content. You could write as much as you want, you could publish photos; you could add videos and so forth. However, Twitter doesn’t offer you such privileges. If you’re keen to share something with Twitter followers, you will have to send links to them.

I’ve been using Facebook fan page for advertising for sometime now. I feel that it’s more powerful than Twitter. Posting pictures of your company’s event or videos showing demo of your products right on the fan page is something that you can’t do on Twitter.

I find Facebook Insights very useful. It gives the statistics about the demographics of my fans, what my fans like, how often they comment or post something, and so on. However, such services are not available with Twitter.

I think to measure the success of your advertising campaign, it’s important to have data. So, if you own a large company and you want to measure your ROI on your advertising, you could depend on Facebook.

yeah. Facebook scores over Twitter as it has in-built analytics. However, if you’re using Twitter you could use third party services like Salesforce to get the data.

It’s not the only benefit of Facebook.

Facebook is a viral marketing medium. Whatever you post or comment on fan page, your activity could appear as news feed in your fans’ pages. Therefore, when you advertise through Facebook, you are not just limited to your fans. If the friends of your fans find something interesting, they may click on news feeds. So, with Facebook you could reach a large audience.
