Having your company’s profile on LinkedIn is absolutely essential. Nowadays, businesses, as well as job seekers, prefer to check the profile of a company before making a business deal or accepting a job offer.

The recommendation feature on LinkedIn has greatly helped my business.

I ask people who had pleasant experiences dealing with our company to recommend our products and services to others.

I also think that recommendations are quite useful. Not only can businesses use recommendations for getting more sales but also for recruiting talented people.

To make the best use of LinkedIn, you should include the appropriate keywords in your description. This will help people to reach you.

Im a retailer, and LinkedIn has helped me to find good suppliers. Id say that the potential of LinkedIn is huge. You just need to know how to exploit that potential.

Ive been using LinkedIn Q & A to develop networks. I make a point to spend a couple of hours every week answering the questions of members. Helping members helps to develop strong relationships. It helps you to project yourself as a pro.

Also, occasionally, I ask poll questions. This creates interest among members. I make a point to share the results of the polls with interested groups.

If I’m in fix, I ask questions on LinkedIn. I get opinions from some of the leading experts in my field. And I think it’s great.

LinkedIn is a superb platform for getting good and unbiased opinions free of cost!

Id like to add something. Dont ever ask questions just for the sake of getting attention.

And, if you want to answer questions to establish yourself as a leader, make sure you answer questions thoughtfully. Otherwise, nobody will take you seriously.

Here are some tips for creating a business profile page on LinkedIn:

      1. You should include your picture on your profile page. This will make your profile page look more credible. People are more likely to spend time on profiles with pictures.

      2. Integrate applications with your LinkedIn profile. Some of the useful applications are Google Presentation, Company Buzz, and Huddle WorkSpace. Google Presentation allows you to share your PowerPoint presentations, Company Buzz allows you to access all the updates related to your business category on Twitter, and Huddle WorkSpace allows creating different workspaces for different groups.

      3. Your LinkedIn URL should easily identify your business. For example, if your business name is Annie Electronics, then you should have URL like LinkedIn.com/Annie Elect or LinkedIn.com/Annie Electronics.

      4. You should update your profile page periodically. A page that is years old serves no purpose. If you’re keen to benefit from a LinkedIn business page, make some effort to add new information from time to time.

      5. You should include LinkedIn icons on your websites and blogs.
