Driving traffic to your web site is really important as this would be your bread and butter. I mean, visitors come and go and from a big bunch, you will always have that number of clients that would be willing to buy from you. And it would be better to get a ton of customers to see your products even if just a few percent are going to stay and buy.

You can try a lot of methods to drive traffic and my favorite would have to be through social networking sites. Because it is free and you have a big network right at your disposal.

I think google content banners would be great also.

You can target retailers and start branding your image.

      Out sourcing

Has anyone tried out sourcing for all these time consuming SEO methods?

If so could you give hints on the best way to go about it and what are the best things to get out sourced.
All the article writing and blogs as well as the link building kind of eat at your time

      Hi All,
having done this task for several businesses, I can shortlist the most effective marketing actions as: Get featured on a site or directory that already has a lot of traffic - this will cost $£ for the best ones (read, the ONLY ones worth appearing on). Sites such as 'Not on the High Street' are a great start.
Have a USP worth talking about, be very unusual or provide phenomenal customer service, or be the absolute cheapest. If you've got a unique characteristic other people will Blog, Tweet, +1 and generally have something worth talking about.
Don't waste your time with Social Media unless you're worth talking about, or you'll be in for an uphill struggle.
Pay a reputable company to build you hundreds of good text hyperlinks back to your store. Don't bother with link exchanges, reciprocals etc. Pick one SEO phrase (the phrase people would type into Google to find you) and get it mentioned in as many inbound links as possible.
Tune up your business concept and inbound links before working on in-site SEO.

      I hope that helps someone.

This is very good information on seo especially the point made about buying aged domains, you can use service providers like godaddy to find and purchase these aged domains through their auctions, they charge a small fee of about $5 a year i think, you can purchase most of these domains for about 12 dollars,
This is not only useful in redirecting traffic to your established website but it is actually a good idea to place your site on the domain if you are just starting out, some of these domains already have some links pointing to them which will make it a bit easier to rank in google, note that getting high positions on google is not an easy task.... but a very good point will be to find these aged domains that contain your main keywords... for example if your main product is "sony laptops," you will go to the godaddy auction site or any other auction site you choose to use, ( a few are domainface and register compass) and then you will enter your keyword "sony laptops" into the search bar , a few domains are bound to come up, remember to verify the age and links pointing to the domain with free online tools such as rankchecker , it is also a good idea to find domains with high pr (google pagerank) which is a vote of importance on googles side..... I hope this helps.. i am new to this forum but i think i will be visiting more often...

Seo is very useful but can be very time consuming too, it is best to get involved with your own sites progress just for the sheer amount you will learn, I actually have my own SEO firm providing increase in google rankings, social media page design and marketing and all the rest... so drop me a private message if you need any further help and I will be glad to provide some info, you can also acquire the services of my firm if you don't have the time to do it yourself ...
