How to convince manufacturer to reduce minimum order quantity - How to manage if MOQ too high

      Hello,

Just have a question, how to tell the factory that the moq is too high. Do I discuss this before I get a sample or do it after I get the sample and like it.

I was thinking if you get the sample and like it, the factory might be more willing to lower the moq, can you post if my way of thinking is wrong?

      1. Offer slightly higher price
      2. Or agree to their MOQ but take delivery in parts spaced over few months.
      3. Offer to pay mould /prototype charges if any. Sometimes your vendor may amortize these charges on higher MOQ then what you need.

Once you like the sample then only discuss the price, MOQ, delivery and other commercial aspects.

good idea, thank you, i actually got prices but once i like the product i will haggle more on the price since the one i chose was not the cheapest and not the most expensive so there might be some wiggle room for price and moq

Yes I will agree with you. Discuss the MOQ after you get the sample and you had liked it. Show the manufacturer that you are serious about bringing in many orders in the future but their MOQ is too high for you as of now. If they see you as a long term client then usually they are very lenient on the MOQ.

If you show to them that you are serious about bringing in many orders in the future I am sure that they will be more willing to work with you.

      I hope it helps!
