What are the requirements to start an export business in China?

I want to start an exporting company in China and I think there is really a good demand for it.

      My questions are:

What are minimum requirements to get the business started? And roughly how much will it cost me to set it up?

      Any help/advice is really appreciated.

      Regards,

Actually opening a company in China is very difficult even for Chinese Nationals. Best bet maybe is to open a HK company as many mainlanders do here.

      Dear Abaaba,

Which items do you want to export from China? You can choose Linyi city as your office location. This city is now developing its international trading business. The government is offering a very good policy in the area. You can rent an office free and they will give some rewards if your export amount is above a threshold. Linyi city is the 2nd largest wholesale city. You can almost find any items in the market, it's just like Yiwu city now.

      Regards,

      Steven

In which city do you prefer to set up your office?

Hello, it's very easy now to establish an office in China? In which city do you want to set up your office and what items you want to trade?

You'll have to find an export agent or an expert lawyer in China to deal with, at least at the beginning. You need an expert helping hand to evaluate all the cons and pros to avoid being the victim of arrogance. If you have some significant questions to solve feel free to contact me in PM.

It depends on what kind of business you want to open, buying agent or something else.

You have to get the Import-Export License if you want to export from China. Basically for local Chinese the minimum register capital of an import - export company is 500K China Yen.

However, as I know it is quite hard for a foreigner to open such kind of business in China. It is required to have a minimum registering capital of USD1million, and all procedured and docs will have to be approved by the governmental department of commerce. Why not just get an agent in China to handle all production, sourcing, inspection and export business? That is much better and easier.
