Reclaiming import VAT tax for DDP shipments to EU countries like Germany, France, UK, etc.
With the unceasing growing of international trade, several large firms established within the European Union require that their overseas suppliers offer a delivery of goods under DDP terms (Delivered Duty Paid).
DDP terms implies that the overseas supplier (which can be located in the USA, Hong-Kong, Japan, China, Canada or elsewhere), bears ALL shipping costs, including the payment of import duties and VAT in the EU country of arrival..
Such an overseas company can however reduce up to 20% of the landed cost by appointing a Tax representative who will recover, on its behalf, the import VAT paid in the EU country where its customer belongs.
