Importing knives into the UK - Regulations on the import of arms and weapons
Hi All,
I am looking to start importing these knives from the US as the cost with shipping and duty comes in at a quarter of the cheapest price I can find them for here in the UK.
They will be sold through my business webpages to Pagans and Wiccans as a Boline, which is a working knife for cutting herbs etc.
As close as I can reckon the comodity code is 8211 93 00 00 which means 8.5% basic duty plus 20% VAT. My question really is would these pass customs inspection or be seized.
The blade length is 4.8cm so it is under 2 inches.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.Want To Be An eBay Powerseller? This is the Service You Need.

Thanks for the welcome and your reply
I thought it might be difficult. I can get them here in the UK from an outlet that sells these knives specifically for the purpose I described. When they are closed they form the shape of a leaf so they appeal to druidic practitioners as well.
I just got fed up with retailers charging vast amounts of money from like minded people. If they were allowed through I would be paying less than a quarter of the price per unit that I can purchase them here in the UK for, and that is after shipping, VAT and duty.Over 150,000 Verified Sources + Deals 95% Off MSRP + Free Website!

Hi Califer,
It certainly sounds like it's worth the risk
Why not contact the UK customs helpline to enquire? As long as you are upfront about the purpose of the knives, you should not compromise the likelihood of them getting through customs:
