Because fireworks are considered explosives, you should abide by all the rules and regulations that cover explosive or hazardous/dangerous products.

      • Be sure to thoroughly check your supplier including references to make sure their product is safe. You do not want to bring in product and sell it only to find it is more dangerous than it already is.

      • You should apply and receive an Recipient Competent Authority (RCA) document that is issued by the Health and Safety Executive. Your supplier should ask for this before sending a shipment. If your supplier does not ask for an RCA document proof from you, then I would question the legitimacy of that supplier.

      • A certified copy of the RCA document must accompany all shipments, be presented to all carriers, and be with the fireworks at all times. Even when you are doing the transport yourself you should have a certified RCA document with you. More information on the RCA is here at Explosives - transfer of explosives .

      • You will probably also need a Certificate to Acquire and Keep Explosives (Explosives Certificate). You would receive this from your local police authority.

      • The RCA documents should be retained for three years even after its expiry.

      • There are further information regarding import of fireworks and explosives using ports and harbours. Please review here to make sure you get the forms and appropriate documents in order to utilize ports and harbours Explosives - Ports and harbour licences .

      • All fireworks should be marked BS 7114 to confirm that they comply with UK safety regulations
