      Hi Mikesimms,

      Welcome to Wholesale Forum

When importing foods into the EU (UK), you need to be aware of the regulations and standards that apply to the products you will be importing. Things you should consider, for example, are labeling and additives (ingredients). If your imports do not comply with EU rules and regulations then it is possible that your shipments get delayed, costs could increase and enforcement authorities could get involved.

If you are not sure about the products you want to import into the UK, then you can get a sample tested by an official food control laboratory, although there is no legal requirement for importers to do so. Have a look at the following link to find a list of Official Food Control Laboratories in the UK: Food Standards Agency - Food control labs in the UK

There are some importers of american foods, candy and drinks in the UK. You should have a look at the products they sell to get an idea of which types of products you can import without any problems. Have a look at the UK importers of american foods below:

      - UK based online retailer of American Candy, Groceries & Soda. Largest selection in the UK! (Also offer wholesale prices on some of their products)
      - Buy American Sweets, Candy, Food & Drinks Online in UK - Fast Delivery Nationwide - American Soda

There are some types of candy which are banned from importation into the UK and the rest of the EU, like certain Jelly sweets containing "konjac (E425)". You can read more about konjac in the following link: Food Standards Agency - Jelly sweets. Also have a look at the following link which lists more products banned and restricted from importation into the EU: Food Standards Agency - Banned or restricted products

Have a look at the following US exporter of candy and drinks:

      - International Candy Exporter | SnackPort.com

You should also try contacting the brands which you are interested in, to get information about their authorized distributors. Hershey's, for example , might be able to tell you where you can buy their products wholesale. Try contacting them from the following contact details:

      The Hershey Company
      100 Crystal A Dr.
      Hershey, PA 17033
      Phone: 717-534-4200
      Website contact: http://www.thehersheycompany.com/contact-us.aspx

If you find some retailers of american candy and drinks, then you should check the packaging of these to see if they reveal any information about the distributor.

For more suppliers and information also have a look at the following discussions:

If you want to find many more verified USA trade sources to get candy, drinks and chocolate from, then we recommend using eSources and Worldwide Brands. They are the largest global trade directories of verified wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers and drop shippers.

Have a look at these results:

USA Suppliers of Candy, Drinks and Chocolate
      - United States Candy Supplier Search
      - United States Drinks Supplier Search
      - United States Chocolate Supplier Search
