Zencart, Magento, OSCommerce - What's better?

Is Zencart being superseded by Magento and Oscommerce? What do you think are the best web solutions to use for a small three man operation being run out of the garage?

      Hi,

Zen Cart is probably one of the most intuitive / user friendly open source shopping cart solutions available. Another two are PrestaShop and OpenCart. Magento is more complex to customize, but it's also a lot more scalable.

Your choice will depend on your objectives and budget.

With Magento you are likely to need the assistance of a third party, due to its complexity, but the end result will probably look more professional than a Zen Cart driven ecommerce site. Also Magento appears to be a more financially stable company than Zen Cart, and is therefore likelier to be around for longer. Magento is more suitable for larger operations. If your forecasts are strong and your budget permits it, by all means go with Magento.

And finally, OS Commerce offers a wider range of free add-ons than any other open source solution:
      OS Commerce: osCommerce Community Add-Ons
Zen Cart: Addons and Contributed Modules, ecommerce shopping cart software by Zen Cart ecommerce solution
Magento: Magento Connect - eCommerce Software for Growth
