      OnlineAuction.com looks sketchy. Reviews?

I am looking for an eBay alternative auction site to sell costume jewelry. OnlineAuction.com looks kind of sketchy. Does anyone have a review?

OnlineAuction.com is a website that sells a full array of items in several categories, such as antiques, collectables, cars, jewelry, etc. Unlike most e-commerce marketplace sites, there are no listing fees or sales commissions and you can contact your buyers directly. OnlineAuction.com charges sellers a fee of only $8 per month. The five different auction formats that sellers can choose are absolute auction, classic auction, Dutch auction, fixed price auction, and sealed bid auction. All auctions end at a specific time. But if there is competitive bidding within seconds of an item ending, the closing time of the auction will be extended. This helps the seller receive the best price.

I am impressed with the low membership rate at OnlineAuction.com. I plan to become a Founding Member, which costs $196 for the first year and $96 for each subsequent year. As a member, I will be able to list items, get a free e-store (called an OLA House) for life, free software, a buying and selling online CD, and free listing enhancements valued at $300. The Founding Membership fee is guaranteed to remain the same for life. According to the auction website, this package is valued at more than $700.00.

I think the customer support is great. Sellers can contact customer service via a toll free number. It is nice to be able to talk to a live person when I need help.

Yes, OnlineAuction.com has been a BBB Accredited Business since February 2006. It has a rating of A+ and has very few complaints. The website was launched in 2004.

I read a few bad reviews about the website. AuctionBytes.com surveyed over 1,400 online sellers to rate 15 ecommerce marketplaces, including onlineauction.com. The objective was to find out which online marketplaces had the best venues on which to sell.

OnlineAuction.com was ranked as the second-lowest site by respondents and received below average ratings in Profitability, Customer Service, Communication and Ease of Use. The auction also was the least recommended selling venue.

I joined six months ago and I am very impressed. I was tired of the high listing fees on eBay.

OnlineAuction site is has very low fees and the customer service has been excellent. Since there are no fees based on commission or listing I make more money in the long run. I pay just $8 per month on the membership fee. I would definitely recommend the site.

This site is simple to navigate and very easy to list. You can't beat $8.00 a month and there are no final value fees. OnlineAuction.com does everything possible to help encourage sales by offering games with valuable prizes and continual free upgrades. Unlike eBay and many other auction sites, it is easy to reach a real person, by email or phone if necessary.

There is not a lot of traffic to the website and many customers complain that the selection is not as good and prices are not very competitive. As a seller, I am concerned that my items will not sell. I wonder if Google even knows if the site exists.
