Getting Positive Feedback on eBay
I have been hearing a lot about the importance of feedback on eBay. Why is it important to get feedback on eBay? How can I get good EBay feedback rating?

eBays original intention was to build a network or online community through a system of feedbacks. Feedback is important when it comes to buying or selling on eBay. Your ratings will allow buyers to judge whether to place an order with you or not. Similarly, good eBay feedback rating gives you confidence to invest in the products of a supplier.

eBay feedback system favors the buyer more than the seller. To get feedback on eBay that enhances your reputation, you must be careful about the quality of your customer service.

What about those programs that allow the seller to generate multiple positive feedbacks in a single day?

You can get 1000 positive ratings in 24 hours by throwing in something extra with the order and telling the customer to give you a positive feedback in return. This kind of bribing does not work long-term though. You cannot keep bribing customers without running into losses. And the moment the freebies stop coming in, the brickbats from customers will start coming in!

Many of my friends who sell items off eBay tell me the #1 reason they get negative ratings is that they do not present accurate descriptions or updated photos of the item. You should make sure your customers get exactly what they paid for. If they email you with a question, make sure you answer promptly. Shipping costs lead to heartburns. If you cannot provide free shipping, at least charge low rates and make sure the items reach the customer on time. If you follow these simple rules, getting good get feedback on ebay becomes easy.

Soy_SA has suffered much due to the buyer bias that eBay displays, I am guessing. Many buyers indulge in what eBay calls feedback extortion you either give me discounts or I will put a negative feedback on your profile. And because you are not allowed to revenge feedback your buyers, there is not much you can do except approach eBay directly. It is a long process. The buyer may be blacklisted or their eBay privileges withdrawn. When you are selling on eBay, you must not only try to get positive ratings, but also protect yourself from unfair negative comments.

LOL Feenixer. I did get armtwisted by a buyer once, and I did exactly what you suggested I asked eBay to intervene. If you think you have been unfairly targeted or you have a rejoinder to a buyers comment, eBay allows you to respond to the feedback.

You know Paul, a massive amount of positive feedbacks looks suspicious. There have been many feedback scams on eBay and buyers are wary of a picture-perfect feedback scoresheet. So you should not try to influence the natural feedback process to get as many feedbacks as possible. Instead, concentrate on providing good service and protect yourself from unethical buyers.

Go through the section on feedback on eBays website. This will answer any questions you have on how the system works. You should preferably read this section before you start selling on eBay.
