eBay Selling Limits - Does Ebay limit some sellers and not others

      Hi all,

New to this forum and selling on Ebay. I have been having loads of problems with selling limits on eBay. They just don't seem to give you enough of a limit.

Why is it that I see some sellers with pages and pages of items listed though? Does Ebay limit some sellers and not others?

      I understand how you feel.
I have been on the same state when I first started selling last year. I have literally sent around 50+ emails to eBay and each time I sent an email I was told to wait and as my selling performance improves my limits wil go higher.

But soon I found out, giving them a phone call does the tricks. Just make sure what you are selling is something genuine or unbranded and have a good feedback record to get your selling limits raised.

Obviously it's not easy to sell on ebay. On the other hand, if it has to do with limiting you as a seller I guess it's for you and others protection. If you are already a trusted seller or they would see that you are realliy doing business with them I guess there would be no problem at all. Your quota would increase as time goes by so never lose hope and continue your journey. Ebay is a great place.

Everybody has a limit, even powersellers. After your first few months of selling you can call them and they will give you a limit that is workable. It is important that you do not have any TOS violations in this time.

Its true that many ebay sellers have limits placed on certain categories and items until they confirm certain information or establish a positive selling history. These limits are thus intended to help one in becoming a successful seller. Which in turn ensures a safer experience for all eBay customers..And of course maintaining a good selling history with less of issues from the customers will ultimately increase your positive feedback.

I know it's ridiculous to be honest. I think people are going to start moving to places like asosmarketplace, play or amazon and they will be loosing revenue.. they can't carry on being so arrogant. Asos market place is a great place to sell vintage clothes and that's a massive chunk of their sales gone!

As a new ebay seller, I know the paypal funds will be held for 21 days from the date the buyer paid. I meet this situation too. It is really a hard time to sell for the new seller in the beginning.

phoning is best it also goes on good feedback to.which is a catch 22 really because you need to list lots of items to build your feedback but you cant.it took my friend 6months to get to the stage of selling upto 1000, items and that was phoning ebay once a month to get the restrictions lifted slightly each month.oh keep an eye on ebay new rules coming up will be more expensive sellers.E bidder.com is a fast an up coming selling sight there is no listing fees and only a small fee on sale of item.was only just pipped at the post in a recent survey to ebay.just a thought as an alternative.cheers phill

I believe the seller limits are inconvenient but I understand them for new sellers. However it's the limits in CERTAIN categories that are ridiculous. I know it's to restrict people buying 20 items from China and reselling them for near retail BUT ironically look at all the Asian sellers on eBay selling MANY of those Same items???? Also on average it seems only 75% of buyers leave feedback all the time so you can risk selling 100 items and only receiving 75 or less feedbacks SUCKS
