Can I Ban Certain Buyers From EBay? What Are the Valid Reasons for Doing This?

Lately, I’m having problem with some buyers on eBay. They unnecessarily create troubles for me. Is there some way of banning certain buyers for bidding for my items? Can I set some criteria for buyers? Thanks all!

      Yes, it’s possible.

Here are the steps to set buyer’s preferences.

      1. Login to your eBay account and go to My eBay.

      2. Click on the Account tab and then Site Preferences.

      3. Go to Buyer’s Requirements, and click on Edit.

      4. Set your requirements and save.

      You could restrict buyers

      1. If their feedback score is less than a certain level.
      2. if they have a history of eBay policy violation.
      3. if they have any cases of unpaid items.
      4. if they’re located in place where you don’t ship your products.
      5. If they don’t have a Paypal account.

When you set buyer’s requirements, it applies to all your listings. Therefore, if you want to change the restrictions for any listing, you should make appropriate changes beforehand.

Is there some way to block some specific buyers? I’m not talking about a buyer with low feedback or one who has violated eBay policies. Suppose there’s a buyer named John, and I want to block him. Can I do it?

Yes, you should add the buyer’s ID to your blocked list. You can add up to 5,000 buyers in your blocked list.

Whenever I get a nasty buyer, I make sure I add him or her to my blocked list in order to prevent any problems in future.

      The process is somewhat similar.

      1. Go to My eBay.
      2. Go to My Account.
      3. Go to Site Preferences.
      4. Click on Buyer’s Preferences.
      5. Click on Add to My Blocked Bidder/Buyer List.
      6. Add the buyer ID that you want to block from bidding.
      7. Save the changes.

There’s another method that I follow.

Go to My eBay. Go to the column on the left side of the page with the heading My eBay Views. Click on Related Links and then More. Go to managing items, and then click on Block Bidders. Add the eBay ID of the buyers you want to block.

Once you add the ID, the buyer will not be able to bid for your products.

In the Sell Your Item form, there’s an option, “Other things that your buyers should know.” You should go to this section and then to Buyer’s Requirements. Go to Block Certain Buyers, and select your conditions, and then add your requirements. Finally, click on save.
