Drop shipping is a big business, and there’s lots of money to be made. And, as you’ve apparently learned, some items sell much better than others. Here are a couple of examples of items that can be hot sellers, if you do a good job marketing them:

      • Clothing, accessories and shoes sell well on eBay,
      • Electronic gadgets, specifically communications and entertainment devices,
      • Home and garden items.

You need to find the right niche market to sell to

That’s some good advice. If you find the right niche market, you could be very successful. Here are a couple of suggestions for items that fill very specific niche markets:

Angel items – don’t think just Christmas. Angels are very popular collectibles and people give and receive angel items year round.
Items for left-handed people – that’s right! There are so many things that right-handed people take for granted, like using a can opener, but that are different for lefties. So, find some good products that cater to left-handed people, and you could have some real hot sellers on your hands (no pun intended).

Other niche items that I’ve heard sell well on eBay:

      • Patriotic products
      • Soy and gluten free products
      • Wide shoes
      • Kids dress up outfits

The list goes on….And, I understand that all of these products have drop ship/ wholesale/affiliate companies that are very willing to supply your product inventory.

I bet they do. Can you tell me more about what kinds of electronic items do well?

Sure. Due to the growth in the electronics industry, drop shipping of electronics items can be especially profitable, even for someone who’s new to drop shipping.

Keep in mind, too, that within the electronics category, there are numerous other sub-categories, all of which can be considered the niche market I discussed earlier.

The following items, and more, all sell very well:

      • TVs, stereos, DVD players and home theater items,
      • GPS units (everyone has to have one of these, right?),
      • Portable audio and video products,
      • iPods and accessories,
      • Alarm systems and surveillance cameras,
      • Electronics for your car,
      • Kitchen and home appliances and more.

The beauty about any of these items is that they sell well any time of year, and regardless of the state of our economy!

Well, that makes sense, when you think about it. I guess people stay home more during hard economic times, so they’ll still need to watch TV, movies and the like.

That’s right, and these electronic items are now so prevalent in our lives that we’d probably be lost without them! But you’ll want to consider 3 things before you enter into business drop shipping electronic goods. Consider:

      1. What specific items are in high demand in the market in which you wish to sell,
      2. What items can turn you the most profit?
      3. What items can you get at a low price?

That’s all good advice. Is there a down side to drop shipping electronic goods?
