      What Questions Should I Ask a Potential Dropship Supplier?

      Hi, I have a huge list of dropshippers, but no ones fits my particular business model. I would like to know, what questions should I ask potential dropshippers? Thanks for any help.

      The success of your business will, to a large extent, depend on the reliability of your suppliers. Especially, when you opt for drop ship services. There are a number of ways to judge a potential drop shipper. Here are some questions which you can ask drop shippers to check their credibility.

      1) Do you offer a Dropship Program for online stores?

      If you own an online store and need your customers’ orders shipped directly to them, with your company name on the package, you should opt for a dropship program. The process can be a little different from standard retail drop shipping but will result in a better impression with your customers.

      2) Do you sell to the general public?

      Drop shippers who sell to the general public are not real drop shippers. They're just retailers posing as suppliers. A drop ship supplier sells items at wholesale prices only to retailers.

      3) What is your minimum order requirement?

      Minimum order requirement is the lowest quantity of a certain product that a supplier is willing to sell. Sometimes, attractive deals can fail to close due to a high MOR because the supplier will only drop ship in wholesale quantities. If you are opting for a wholesale drop shipper, bear in mind that your target market will be mostly B2B.

      4) What are your returns policies?

      Many drop shippers charge a restocking fee for returns (some up to 25%). Before deciding to do business with a drop shipper, you need to understand how they handle returns.

      5) Do you charge drop ship fees?

      A drop ship fee is a fee charged by the drop shipper to offset the cost of packaging and shipping individual items. Drop ship fees and other fees can wipe out your profit margins if they're not carefully managed and planned for.
