What are the holiday season requirements for FBA toy sellers on Amazon?

I am an FBA toy seller here. I’ve looked around, but I am having a little trouble finding Amazon’s requirements for FBA sellers this year for selling toys during the holiday season. Does anybody know?

Well, for you, that is easy. All FBA sellers are exempted from the holiday season toy selling requirements provided your selling account is in good standing.

But for those who are not FBA sellers, I have found a list of their requirements, and I’ll put it below. Just in case you aren’t clear on what all this means, let me explain. Amazon comes out every year with their Toy and Games Holiday Selling Guidelines. These basically say that all third party vendors who sell toys and games on Amazon have to meet performance targets before the holiday season, otherwise, they will not be allowed to sell toys and games during the holiday season. Basically, Amazon wants sellers who are good and have enough sales and a high enough customer satisfaction rating to sell during this high volume season. They do not want new people or people who are sloppy to be selling toys and games during this high volume period.

Here are the outlines of the guidelines:

      • Seller’s first sale on Amazon must have been before the 20th of September (though it doesn’t have to be a toy or a game)
      • Seller has to have processed and shipped at least twenty five orders in the sixty days before the first of November (again, doesn’t have to be toys or games).
      • Seller cannot have anything above a 1% order defect rate as of the beginning of November.
      • Seller cannot have a pre-fulfillment cancel rate for the month of October.
      • Cannot have anything above a five percent late shipment rate for October.

Oh, so I don’t have to worry about those requirements at all. Sweet!

Good luck! Over the years Amazon has favored large volume sellers more and more (no wonder, Amazon collects 15% commission on each sale) and if you do not win the buy box (Amazon rules to win the buy box favor the large volume sellers) , your chances of strong sales or repeat sales are slim or next to none.
