Reclaiming import VAT on imports from outside Europe

      Hi guys,

My business is importing some products to sell in the UK from a non-EU country. Will I be able to reclaim the import VAT back?

      Thanks in advance!

      Hi Neoinwales,

      Welcome to Wholesale Forum

VAT paid on goods imported from non EU countries can be reclaimed as Input tax. To reclaim VAT you will, however, need to be registered for VAT with the HMRC. To reclaim VAT as Input tax you need the import VAT certificate, form C79, to show that you have paid the import VAT. For more information about form C79 have a look at the following link from the HMRC:And for more information about paying and reclaiming VAT on non EU imported goods you should visit the following link:Hope this helps
