    Hi detailedreams,

By far the best way to discover official wholesale distributors of branded merchandise is to visit the brand's corporate website for a list of their current distributors and wholesalers.

You can also try looking on the product itself by going to a store and glancing at the back of it. If you’re lucky it might say something along the lines of “Distributed by…” and make a mental note of any information you find. It's a legal requirement for an importer to specify their company name on any imported goods, therefore you might also discover some major importers using this method.

Thirdly you can Google the manufacturer's name and call or contact them through their website. Always ask for a sales representative to obtain one of their authorized suppliers lists. Most suppliers will likely require you to be a retailer or a registered business (with a valid Tax ID) before you can have access to their catalogs.

Finally, you can take a look at our suppliers and dropshippers forum at Wholesale & Dropship Suppliers Discussion - Wholesale Forum where you will soon find lots of resources and discussions about each supplier.

Always remember that a great supplier will work with you to the very end. Never give up. Focus on the bigger picture instead of spending all of your energy on one problem.

    Best wishes,

    WholesaleForum Admin

If they don't ask for sales tax certification then watch out.

Live2Laugh well said. A genuine US distributor will always ask for a valid Tax ID. If they don't, there is a high probability it is a middle man, or something else isn't quite right and worth investigating further.

Thanks for the replies! I thought it would take weeks to receive informative responses, but I guess I was wrong.
