Is 1freecart.com any good? Review please.

Has anyone on here ever heard of the site 1freecart.com? I am setting up a website for my store and need a shopping cart. I also am not keen on spending money to get one up and running on my site. However, I just want to make sure it is a legitimate site.

Whenever I am in question about something online, I look up the website’s server information on WHOIS and see who has set it up and where. This usually gives me a good idea whether the business is legitimate or not.

In this case, the registering company is Internet Specialty Services, LLC located at P.O. Box 75315 Wichita, Kansas 67275, US. It was last updated on Dec. 21, 2010 and does not expire until Dec. 20, 2011.

However, according to another server enquiry website, 1freecart.com is hosted in Colleyville, Texas (US) by the ISP provider Choice Solutions. Although this information does not completely nullify the validity of the website, I believe it is enough to call into question 1freecart’s legitimacy.

I agree that if a site looks suspicious, you should at least research it to the farthest of your ability. I understand that there can be advantages of using a shopping cart on your site, but there are other free carts out there with rave reviews and no contradicting information.

Thereís ZenCart and OS-Commerce. Those are two good shopping carts. I use ZenCart myself, but it was a close call between ZenCart and OS-Commerce when I was shopping around.

While using a free cart can save you a lot of money, you really shouldn’t use one unless you’re starting with no budget at all. Try and research carts that are more customizable and can differentiate you between all the other competition in your market. If you don’t, you run the risk of just blending in when you want to stand out and succeed.
