Everything Iíve heard is to avoid them. They have a bad rap for selling fake goods. There are some sellers on there that are legit, but you need to make sure you research them.

      Some pointers for you:

      ē look at sellerís feedback
ē are the items branded (probably fake if so)
ē ask seller if they are good copies (better than asking if they are real)

The most common complaint is the lack of service. If the deal goes south you arenít likely to find much help from DHGate themselves.

I donít know if you can call the entire DHGate operation a scam. There are some sellers on there that you really need to watch out for. They have a lot of good items for sale like cellphones and computers, but if the price seems too good to be true then you are probably getting copies.

Ask the seller about the item and keep your correspondence. If you run into a problem donít wait on DHgate to help you out. Open a dispute with PayPal and let them force the issue for you. DHgate holds the money in escrow and they donít want negative PayPal comments that can cause their account to be frozen.

Research. That one word sums it up. Personally I stay away from dhgate because their prices just donít match the market. That means they are fake. I donít sell unbranded items, just branded. That doesnít mean you canít make money of unbranded. You just have to figure out what you are going to sell.

Iíll never do business with dhgate again. I bought a case of the google android epadís and they are bogus. First the seller tried to change the price after the fact and then he didnít ship them when I told him I didnít want fakes. Needless to say Iím dealing with PayPal trying to get my money back.

Saying every seller on dhgate is a scammer goes a bit too far. Iíve had a couple of positive transactions through the site but you do have to be careful. The customer service is seriously lacking so if you donít do the work up front the headache will get worse.

Make sure you talk to the seller about what you are trying to purchase Ė camera equipment, shoes, designer bags, watches Ė make sure you get the specifics. Asking if they are good copies is a better question than asking if they are real.

I did a deal on menís watches through dhgate, and not only were they fakes they were really bad fakes. Iíve been trying to get in touch with the seller about a refund but the communication is beyond ridiculous.
