What Is TrustPass on Alibaba? Is It Legitimate?

Hi friends. Iíve been in the retailing business for almost 2 years now. But still, I find it difficult to find a reliable wholesaler for my supplies. Recently, somebody suggested that I should deal with Trustpass members on Alibaba. I want to know what Trustpass is and whether it is safe to trade with a Trustpass member.

First, let me answer what Trustpass is. In order to provide a safe trading experience, Alibaba has introduced Trustpass. To become a member of Trustpass, accreditation by a third-party credit agency is required.

Coming to your second question, I don’t trust Alibaba suppliers, not even Trustpass members. I doubt the credibility of such programs. I’ve read many bad reviews about Trustpass members.

My advice is that you should avoid Alibaba suppliers.

Blackjack is absolutely correct. I’ve been scammed by a Trustpass Alibaba supplier.

Three months ago, I was looking for a supplier of electronic products. I tried talking to some dealers in the U.S., but their products were costly. I decided to use an Alibaba supplier. I placed an order of only $400, as I wanted to check the quality before buying more. But, when I received the stuff, I was shocked. It was nothing close to what I expected.

My verdict is also to stay away from them.

Becoming a Trustpass member of Alibaba is not difficult. They don’t have a strict process in place. Therefore, trusting Trustpass members for quality and reliability should be a strict no.

Moreover, this is a paid program, and therefore, itís hard to believe that Alibaba takes due care in verifying buyers and sellers.

I’d say that, before dealing with any supplier, you should ask them loads of questions and clear your doubts.

Like, you should ask them how long they have been in this business and if they are licensed distributors. You should also ask them to give the references of their clients and customers so that you could get some feedback on them.

If you buy on Alibaba, don’t pay by Western Union or wire transfers. Use safe payment methods like Paypal and credit cards. This might help you in case you don’t get your items or if the products are quite different from as described by the seller.

Should I get samples from the supplier? Would it help me?

Iím not quite sure of this. Most suppliers on Alibaba are based in China. Chinese suppliers are not consistent in quality. Your supplies may not have the same quality as that of the sample. So, please make your decisions wisely.

You all are saying that Trustpass members are not trustworthy. But, I’ve heard that the Alibaba staff personally visits the person who applies for Trustpass membership.
