How To Check UGG Boots Authenticity - Spot Fake Marks / Identify Counterfeit UGGs

As a lot of people find it difficult to get authentic UGG boots, I am planning to buy original Ugg boots and resell them at a premium on ebay. I want to make sure that I sell only original UGG boots. But, I donít know how to be sure if the supplier will send me the original stuff. Can somebody tell how I can identify fake UGG boots?

UGG boots is an expensive designer boot brand. Nowadays, many manufacturers are replicating UGG boots to make huge profits. Here are some of the main characteristics of UGG boots. I hope these will help you identify the differences between the fake and original UGG boots.

      1. Ugg boots are made of double-faced sheepskin. The skin has a fleece inside and tanned outer surface. Double-faced sheepskin from Australia is of very high quality. It keeps the feet warm and comfortable. Most of the fake UGG boots are made of cow skin or pig skin. You may also find fake Ugg boots made of dyed wool. If your boots smell like paint or dye, then it is most likely that you have bought a fake pair.

      2. By checking the labels, you can definitely find if the pair is original or fake. The real label has overlapping Gs. The registered trademark sign is close to the open face of G and Australia is printed in lowercase below UGG. However, in most fakes you find Australia in bold font and registered trade mark offset from its ideal position. You should also check the position of the label on the boots. If the label is too high, it is a fake pair of Ugg boots.

      3. The quality of stitching is really bad in fake boots. You should thoroughly check the finish of the boots in order to identify if it’s fake.

      Hope this helps you.

Another thing - fake Ugg boots have rigid soles while the originals have flexible soles.

The care booklet that comes with authentic Ugg boots is white. It has very nice print quality. It has Ugg Australia embossed in silver. Fake Ugg boots come with badly printed care booklets.

Logos are difficult to imitate. To spot fake Ugg boots, you should check the logo. Real Ugg boots have the Ugg logo with an orange sunburst design on the sole.

You are right. Also, fake UGG boots have very thin soles. The original UGG boots have soles of at least half-an-inch thickness.

Yeah, the heels of fakes are much narrower than the heels of original boots.

Ugg boots are manufactured in China these days, so if a retailer or seller tells you that he has Ugg boots that have been manufactured in New Zealand or Australia, then the boots are fake.
