BrandsDistribution.com Review - Is Brands Distribution legit or scam?

Does anybody know if this company is for real? I have never ordered from them but I was considering doing so. They have some good prices, but I just dont know if I feel comfortable starting out with a seven hundred dollar order from these guys without knowing them. Any advice or experience?

Some say they are really good, and some say they have had issues. Here is the low-down.

First off, they are an Italian based company. This means that you will need to account for taxes when importing their stock into the United States. Just something to watch out for.

Sometime last year their warehouse was inspected by Italian authorities and their website was shut down for a while. Now, it is back up, and they appear to be clean in the eyes of the Italian law. I heard through the grape vine that the police were checking to see if everything they were selling were legitimate products. Some had suggested that they were selling bootleg stuff, clothing and what not. Anyways, as that they are back up and operating openly, it appears that they are at least not selling fakes.

One thing that has really bugged people is that they do not allow people to stop by and visit their business. As some of you may know, lots of places will let people that they work with stop by and see the business. This is not simply because they want to be polite, but it also makes your business partner more confident that you are a legitimate company. Brandsdistribution.com is based in Italy, and I have known several of my Italian friends to complain that they were not allowed to visit the business. They called to try to arrange an appointment, but were told that no one was allowed to see the business, that all dealings had to be done online.

Like a lot of other wholesale companies, they have a communication problem. They often do not answer their phone and they will often times take days or even weeks to respond to emails.

Finally, I have heard complaints about shipping problems. Sometimes they ship the wrong thing or the thing that they ship lacks some of the pieces that they said that it had. Problems can occur with wholesale orders, due to the size of the merchandise that changes hands, however beware that with Brandsdistribution you may struggle to get issues with deliveries resolved. Many resellers will be fine with this, as they understand that when buying wholesale (especially if liquidation, clearance or end of line) problems will arise; just be sure you are happy with and can bear these kinds of problems (to be fair you will experience them with most wholesale distributors).

If anyone has any more experience with them, please leave a note on this forum.

Yea, I ordered some sunglasses from them. First they sent me the wrong pair and it took a week before they finally answered my email. They said they would send me a second pair, and they did, but then they forgot to put the cleaning cloth into the case.

I don’t trust anybody who won’t let me stop by and see their business.

The company is legal and ordering is quite straight forward, but buyers be aware of two things!!

1st Too much of the stock on offer is being quoted at a much higher RRP than what it is actually being sold for on various retail websites or on the brands offical website!!

I have even seen department stores selling the item much cheaper than their RRP quote and their RRP prices are regular not discounted. So if their ...wholesale price is €20 and they quote an RRP €80 don't belive this as many items are being sold for much less, as much as 40% less, which means as an example if you buy at €20 then with the standard mark up of x 2.5 = €50 ( which the shops and websites retail for ) you can not say reduced from €80 to €50 shoppers as most shoppers will know that the RRP was never €80.

Another example their D&G men's underware quoted RRP is €59, you can buy the exact same underwear in a shop for €30, so that is 100% over the top RRP so how can you compete retail wise with buying at €13 + freight, no wonder they are taking for ever to sell out!!

I have recived items with the offical price tags intact and and the RRP is much lower than what is shown on Brandsdistributions website and when I point this out and that offical RRP prices on websites and departments stores are much cheaper they say their quoted RRP on their website are given by their suppliers, yeh right!!.... they are just trying to hook you in.

2nd The delivery rates through DHL are very very expensive and can put a lot on each item.

Having said this I have had items that I was able to retail at a reduced price compared to the RRP and still get a mark up of between 2.5 & 3.5 but there are items that you will not even get 2.5, even before you add on the feight costs so be aware!!

Just look around and see what others retail the products for to get an idea of the real RRP.
