DPBUK.co.uk Review - Is it just me or is it actually a scam?
I have read a few suspicious reviews on DPBUK.co.uk, but after looking through all the information, it seems like a scam to me. Am I the only one who thinks this?

19 Apr 2011 04:12 AM #2Your instinct is correct. DPBUK is a scam and is set up much like other dropshipping scams.
What these sites exploit is your initial conviction that a pre-loaded site would be desirable, when the reality is the complete opposite. Also what dpbuk won't tell you is that:
1. they are not a dropshipper but a middleman, and have duplicated the same scam across websites;
2. they don't stock any of the products;
3. they have no idea which products are in stock, because they are an intermediary using a third party;
4. their products are way too expensive, plus they add a markup to already inflated prices;
5. you will struggle because the websites are terrible, both the graphics and functionality. They are duplicate and therefore get penalised by Google's duplicate content filters, and banned out of Google's search results.
Here are some reviews:
- DPBUK.co.uk review - anyone tried dpbuk? Is it a scam?
- Dropshipping Reviews - which UK dropshippers to avoid - Page 1 - Dropship Forum - Dropshippers Reviews
- Dpbuk.co.uk Review | Dpbuk.co.uk Scam | Dropshipping Reviews and Scam Alerts.
Also the costs are misdescribed. They will first ask you to pay a "one-time" fee, and immediately after they will force you to pay recurring hosting fees if you want the site to run at all. Their strategy is that, since you have already paid some money, you are less likely to say no to their underhand hosting fees to avoid losing your first payment.
Most importantly, the products don't sell. Amazon and eBay (your competition) have hundreds of sellers selling the same exact products at under dpbuk's cost prices! That's the most shocking aspect of the scam.
Because DPBUK does not stock any of the products, the feed is very inaccurate and mostly outdated, leading to losses from having to issue refunds, negative feedback and so forth. You see dpbuk is not a real dropshipper, they use other dropshippers to dropship for them. Since dpbuk doesn't hold any stock, and doesn't know anything about the stock, in the unlikely event you make a sale you will find yourself having to refund your customers because dpbuk doesn't have the product. You may think this is normal, but with dpbuk this happens all the time, leading to loss after loss. It's ok to try before failing, but in this case I'm afraid you will fail before starting because the people behind this scam are pure conmen.
It is in summary a waste of money. Do not use this site unless you have suicidal tendencies.

When I researched DPBUK, a forum popped up that was full of only good reviews about the site. Later I found out they own the forum.
Also beware that dpbuk is the same as ukdropshipgroup, which is the same as dropshipland. They try to claim that they offer different services, but in reality all three are the same scam, therefore watch out.

19 Apr 2011 05:15 AM #6That forum you found is owned and operated by DPBUK and its associated dropshipping websites. Unfortunately one way DPBUK blinds unaware potential customers to the truth is by posting false comments on its forum and blog. It creates usernames and posts fake comments that only portray DPBUK in a positive light and competitors in a bad light. Watch out.

Hello, I'm a newbie dropshipper and thought I would leave a note of my experiences with this company for others to read.
I recently signed up with dpbuk.co.uk for a gifts website. I was a bit wary of their claim that the only 'compulsory' cost is the £19.97 website, but saw several previous posts saying it was a legit site so took the plunge. Unfortunately it wasn't what I hoped for.
Once I had my website I attempted to set the pricing. This was impossible to do in any meaningful and businesslike way, as I had no way of seeing my supplier's dropship price without logging in to their site. This wasn't possible without paying a further £25 registration fee to the supplier. I sent an email to their customer services requesting access without payment, but had no response until ten minutes after I emailed DBPUK to cancel their service, having lost confidence with them.
All of the products I checked were available more cheaply on amazon than at the cost prce to me (including shipping).
The website supplied is also extremely basic and I would suggest to any prospective buyer that there are cheaper and even free alternatives that are far far better quality. The sites would require a LOT of work imho before they became realistically marketable.
I went with DPBUK for hosting just to keep it all in one place and easy to manage, so I had spent an extra £89.95 for 12mths hosting. I decided to cut my losses and cancel, so as to expend my efforts better and more profitably elsewhere. I emailed DPBUK to ask them to cancel my contract and not rebill me at the end of the 12mth period.
DPBUK insisted I send them a recorded delivery signed letter to confirm this, otherwise they would rebill me, as per terms of contract. Although this is in their terms, it does seem churlish not to accept an emailed scan of written signed confirmation, which imho any reasonable professional business would. It just seems to confirm for me that their sole interest is sucking you in and grabbing your cash.
In summary - you get a rubbish website, products that are not competitively priced, and a company that will not let you cancel without unnecessary cost and effort.
Be aware and be wary, but of course do what you want!!
Regards and good luck all.

beware dbpuk is a scam!
Having recently been duped into buying a website marketing package from dbpuk please follow my advice and steer well clear of them the whole company is an absolute scam!.
after paying out £89.00 for a website plus 1years hosting within hours of my purchase there were numerous problems with the web site and my so called "supplier".
dbpuk refuse to refund my money and clearly have no interest in what they sell - once your money is in their hands you are on your own!.
the so called suppliers are unreliable and refuse to answer emails.
STAY WELL CLEAR OF THEM i only wish i had before parting with my money!.

It's incredible how many people get scammed by dpbuk, without realizing that dpbuk was set up for the sole purpose of taking advantage of inexperienced sellers.
Drop shipping scams thrive because most start ups looking for drop shippers are new to the mechanics of reselling. Don't let your inexperience cost you, there is a lot of information on the Internet about how this type of scam operates. Keep an open mind, and always beware that if something is too easy to find or too easy to set up it will always be to your disadvantage.

Dpbuk has set up two fake blogs to attack esources for exposing that:
1. Dpbuk is a middleman;
2. Dpbuk is simply a marketing website, no warehouse, no nothing, not a dropshipper;
3. Dpbuk has duplicated the same marketing stunt on multiple domain names, all pretending to be different.
Dpbuk how can you post fake information about eSources for exposing the truth? And how can you compare a marketing stunt like yours to a service like eSources which gives sellers access to over 100,000 verified trade sources including over 3,000 real dropshippers? It seems people have figured out your game, they know not to trust you, and now you are left with very few options.
You were exposed for posting fake testimonials about one of your duplicate sites: How NOT to Post Testimonials: DVDDropShip Example If you want real testimonials from people who are making money, you will find hundreds of real testimonials with a traceable fiscal trail at eSources UK - Premium Buyer Subscription
You were exposed for sending fake prices and for having products priced well above RRP. Your defense? "Price doesn't matter!". Well it does matter, and it's possible to source at prices below eBay and Amazon prices: Wholesale Deals UK - Wholesalers, Dropshippers, Importers & Distributors Database | Home |
Now do you see why people don't believe you anymore, and why you have to create fake blogs to cover your malpractices?
