What are the most profitable items to sell on eBay?

A few months ago, I started selling items on eBay from around my house that I needed to get rid of because we were moving. Now I am hooked on eBay selling, but donít have any more household products to sell.

My goal is to buy items wholesale, and then sell them on eBay. I have my wholesale license and everything; I would just like some pointers on the most profitable items to sell on the site.

The most popular items on eBay are ones that are hard to find and valuable. Anything that is vintage tends to sell well. Here are some items that are top sellers on eBay.

      1. Antiques- Skeleton keys, vintage engagement rings, baseball cards, and art. The rings are priced for anywhere between $500 and $1,000. This is also true for art, depending on who the artist was. The highest price for a key is $20 and a vintage baseball card can go for $50.

      2. Coins and stamps- These would be coins that are no longer made, special editions, or vintage coins. You would have to get your stamp or coin appraised before you price it, but many I have seen are priced over $4,000.

      3. Information- Knowledge is the most valuable asset you possess. If you are passionate or knowledgeable about a particular field, sell it. Make a CD or DVD in a how-to format that simplifies a process or procedure. For example, if you are a successful seller on eBay, you could make a CD guiding people step by step how to become a successful eBay seller as well.

Antiques seem like a profitable business on eBay, but I just don’t understand where I would get more than one of the same antique for a good price. Any suggestions?

Itís true that in order to make a profit on these antique items, you will need to have them in good amount to sell. Although antique seems like an antonym for something that is a commodity, you can find antique items in fair sized numbers if you know where to look.

The best places to look for a good number of the same antique item is at flea markets, yard sales and antique stores. For example, people often get rid of sets of dishes, silverware and glassware. You could then sell each dish, silverware and glass separately on eBay. You can also find a good amount of vintage tins with similar logos.

I have found a really good item to sell on eBay following these instructions. However, since I am new at writing posts on eBay, I have no idea what my product description should look like. I really just need a step-by-step guide to walk me through it.

Let me offer you a few tips about writing an eBay product description.

ē First, make sure you know everything there is to know about the item you are selling. For example, if you are selling antiques that you just picked up from the flea market, you probably donít know much about them.

ē Find out what functions they serve, their value, and how they will benefit the customer.

ē Use clear language, good grammar, and accurate spelling. You want to tell the customer the special features of your product without being obnoxious. Donít add extra words or capitalization; be descriptive, but concise.

Hereís a great article about writing product descriptions if you get stuck writing yours:

If your trying to sell cheap vintage items make sure your product description is accurate. A lot of things you try to sell may have minor damage and it's best to be honest than receive poor feedback. I buy items from antique centres or warehouses (in uk, you must get them in US as well?) most times they have cabinets with items for under £5 or even £1 usually il buy these and start the auction with a 0.99 start price and 1 picture so the listing is totally free.

Good example is something I'm about to put on ebay in next few days. I got a bag of 15 commemoritive coins for £5 and can probably get £1-£1.50 for each coin

Just be aware that anything in these antique places that's dirt cheap will be flawed in some way.
