In my opinion they're useful when you're starting up. You can only go back 90 days to see what kind of product did well or not.

Terapeak is the only company to have direct access to eBay Market Research data. The service is invaluable for any eBay trader, if you don't use it yet you are missing out big time, it can increase your sales dramatically and help you remain competitive or beat competitors who aren't using it.

It's not just about which product did well, it's also about how to optimize your listings, which title keywords work best, which advanced listing features convert best, which categories convert best for any product keyword. Simply put, if you sell on eBay you must use it, or you run the risk of being outsmarted by your competition.

I have just signed up for a 7 day trial whilst I am in the research stage of my new eBay Shop business. I am quite impressed and can definately see how it will benefit me. Many thanks.

I have to say I am also rather impressed with it, only on day 4 of my trial but am getting a wealth of information and product knowledge.

The only drawback I can see is not being able to say, 'No that's nothing like what I was after' when you do a search and a random product comes in the middle of the listings.

Overall though, I am signing up for an account.

      ebay Profit vs ebay Marketing

      Hi,

I think that terapeak is very helpfull to know what products are selling well, how your competetivs are selling...etc.

But we must realise that ebay is very very competitive and it is very difficult to do good profit because every thing is being selled on ebay with very cheap prices.

You can do good money wenn you sell a new trend that just come up or when you sell a niche that nobody else selling it too !!!

      My point is:

Just forget the ebay early times that you can make big money and too fast in ebay. You must see ebay today as only ONE ONLINE CHANNEL besides MANY OFFLINE & ONLINE CHANNELS that you use to sell or promote your products.
That means ebay is just a part of your marketing Strategy that let people know you and your product much more than gaining good profit from selling in ebay !!

I hope I did explain my point well.

      Best Regards
      Qwertz

I see your post is from a while back so you may already have used Terapeak a few times by now. I just stared on eBay in June and have used several times. I find they are very strictly defined. If you don't use their description you can miss some good comparison so I try a few different combinations of wrods. On the whole, I have found them accurate and helpful when I'm really unsure of the value of an item. I have found Google's search engine also useful in determining prices. Hope you are doing well. switzelg
