    Hi shoprichards,

There are many reliable sources that can supply cheap electronics, however there are a few questions you need to ask yourself before entering the consumer electronics market:

    1. What is your budget? You will be competing against very large buyers, and in many circumstances you may be competing against sellers of refurbished goods or as new (on eBay unfortunately there are also sellers of stolen goods; eBay actively monitors sales, yet there is little they can do to stop all sellers of stolen merchandise). If your budget is limited, then your best option is to purchase refurbished consumer electronics, since those offers come and go very quickly and if you are able to grab them before other buyers you can certainly make a profit on those goods, especially during Christmas when demand is very high.

    2. Where are you planning to sell the goods? Are you trying to compete on eBay? Consider selling worldwide, since many eBay country sites have prices that are higher than prices on eBay.com. Find yourself a fast, reliable and inexpensive shipper and make your goods available to the world. Offer exceptional customer service to build a good reputation.

Please note eBay, or for that matter the Internet, are not the only markets where you can sell. Internet trade still accounts for only 3.6% of total retail trade! That's right, if you are selling only online you are missing on a huge piece of the pie.

Consider selling your goods through magazine classifieds (this requires that you have a very good copywriter who can write effective and converting sales copy for you, and you will need to test how effective each magazine is at converting readers). In the US, you can go to any library and ask to review a publication that reviews the number of readers every single magazine in the country is currently attracting (I forget the name of the publication right now). This will allow you to evaluate your audience and balance the cost of advertising on the magazine versus your expected conversion rate.

One thing you don't want to do, is to expect to undercut everyone else on price. That's such a short term strategy that as soon as someone else discovers your source you could be out of business. Instead try to build a solid business, don't worry about being the cheapest (end users rarely buy from the cheapest seller, because they often associate the cheapest price to issues with the item, copy goods, substandard quality etc). Instead focus on offering a price that is below or at THE AVERAGE SELLING PRICE in your selling environment (for eBay you can use terapeak.com to identify the average selling price of any item). Then focus on building a good customer experience and after sales service. That's all you need, plus you will be making good and regular profits. Your health will also benefit from this approach since you will not always be concerned about being the cheapest, but the best buying experience a customer could wish for.

Once you can provide answers to the above questions we will gladly point you towards some good electronics sources.
